Description of 1957 Lincoln Other |
Up for auction is a very nice 1957 LINCOLN PREMIER CONVERTIBLE that is a part of a collection to be sold except for two. Whichever are sold, he last two will be kept for the time being. This is due to my father's stroke [age 74] that occurred 10 months ago and he cannot be active as he has been in the past. This Lincoln came from Arizona where it spent most of it's life so it has all it's original sheet metal rust free. The car was restored partially and remains beautiful inside and out. Nearly all the chrome was done [big bucks] and all the stainless is in super condition and very straight and ding free. That is a rare find. All the drive train is original to this car and was been redone so the engine runs super smooth and noise free as it should and the transmission shifts great. All the brakes have been done as well as the radial tires, xhaust system, and a new canvas [Hartz] which is the most expenses. The car runs and drives down the road very silently and smooth and stops great. There are three things that need attention as follows:1. The power top switch decided to stop working this past week. It works in the down direction but not the up direction. This should not be a problem to have the contacts cleaned or replaced.2. The carburetor should be rebuilt as sometimes it will run rich as the car sat for about 10 years in dry storage. It always starts right away ever after months of winter sitting and drives without hesitation. Sometimes it will pick up a little dirt in the bowl that hits the needle jets. It has never broken down but just an alert to a future heed.3. The AUTOMATIC door locks don't work. He does it by hand and not an inconvenience. All in all, he Lincoln is beautiful, tart right up, uns smoothly, nd presents itself in a majestic way with never any negative comments. It is not a trailer queen but rather a high point driver that you can enjoy as is or with a little added effort, t will be one of the best around. Look carefully at the pictures and ask any questions you may have or send someone to inspect it is fine. We will accommodate you by appointment. It is noted that the dash pad is completely original and is as perfect as they get. There no defects with shows the care and type of storage it has had. Also, he original steering wheel is beautiful without all the unsightly cracks and splits that cause expensiverebuilding. Both items are amazing nice and it doesn't get better than it was when new. I have seen these Lincoln Convertibles demand close to $100,000 at auctions and Classic car dealers ask $70-80,000 for them and they cannot be better than this car. My Father is realistic and has very reasonable asking prices as you will see. I have shown other cars in the collection and if you have any questions on them, ust ask. A total of three will go. Thank you. |
