Description of 1959 Lincoln Continental Convertable |
I purchased this 1959 Mark IV in 2007 as a barn find restoration project, ar had been setting since 1977. Was assembled new at the Ford Wayne plant,sold new in Texas and all it's life in Texas until purchased by me in 2007. An on and off project for me since 2007, ar now is about 75 to 80% done, as been completely dismantled, leaned, esealed, epainted to original, uilt from ground up in every detail, s 90% complete with original rims and like new original wheel caps. Body and chassis are all original sheet metal, ever wrecked or replaced, ody and all related parts stripped and pressure blasted to bare metal, rimed and resealed, op coated with two stage urethane, riginal color. All chassis and suspension and related parts pressure blasted clean and repainted with all bushings and rubber replaced. All electric motors dismantled and cleaned with new lubrication added, ll tested and found to be in good working condition. Top frame, otor and hydraulics cleaned and new fluid added and work excellent, lso have complete new top kit, eeds to be installed. Most weather stripping through out the car has been replaced new. Windshield is new as well some door glass, he rest in good original condition. Exhaust pipes, ufflers, lamps and resonators, ew. Engine rebuilt with new parts by Waynes in Riverside, ncluding new original carburator, uel pump and flywheel by me, ransmission good with new seals, rive shaft cleaned with new u-joints installed. All stainless trim good. Has new gas tank with new fuel sender. What is still needed: Interior upholstery, eats and carpets Tires. Some wiring is incomplete. This car is an incomplete restoration project. |
