Description of 1946 Lincoln Zephr |
1946 Lincoln Zephyr 2-door Club Coupe – Vin Number H137929 – 58,825 This car is complete and original. It is only a 2 owner car. It has the original V-12 engine with a three speed transmission that includes factory overdrive. It has hydraulic windows, the cloth interior was replaced which is in really nice shape. It has never been restored. It runs great and drives well. This a nice Sunday driver. The chrome is good but you can detect some pitting. The car was only driven 2-3 times a year. I suspect it will need tires, belts or hoses due to age however everything is functional. The car has a current plates and registration. The car has 58,825 miles on it. It was purchased new in Fresno, California and has always been in Fresno so it is rust free and in beautiful condition. Yes, it was always garaged. It is only being sold because my uncle has passed away. I have been asked to sell the car. I am based in Central New York and the car is in Fresno, California, so during this auction we are going to dealing with a three-hour time change if you need any questions answered. The clock does not work. This car does not have a Wonderbar radio. The light and brake lights do work however, the right rear light is burned out. Also, the turnsignals do not work! There is a spare but it needs to be replaced. The Trumpet horns work well. The car does have a heater/defroster and fog lamps. There are a few spare parts; headlight frame, hood badge and a jack. I am trying to represent this car as accurate as possible. The car needs some love but not a lot of work. The photos make the car look better than it is but still really nice. It has a few blemishes and needs polish and wax. Historical Description Proceeding World War II, all automobile manufacturers were eager to get back to what they did best, making cars! Ford and company started production again in July 1945, and few changes were made to the Lincoln cars as a result of limited design time. Although the Zephyr name was dropped officially, many Lincoln enthusiasts still consider the lines of 1946 all the same as the pre-war examples. Changes did include an early forfeiture of the 305ci displacement V12 back to the more reliable 292ci block casting, a new die cast front grill, gorgeous bumper guards at the front & rear, new ball & spear hood ornament, and distinct coat-of-arms emblem on the deck lid, just to name a few. its original 292ci V12 engine, 3-speed transmission with optional overdrive, and 4.44:1 factory rear end ratio, this Coupe will prove itself as quite the power house once behind the wheel. The clutch is silky smooth, and gear engagement is precise! The original hydraulic drum brakes bring this 3,915 pound coupe to a stop with ease! Additional features include power lift windows, trumpet horns, fender skirts, turn signals, heater/defrost, and optional fog lamps. I do not end my auctions early. Please do not ask. I also will not disclose the reserve but I have priced the car below market value. Good luck and good bidding! |
