This is an exceptional example of a 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible, and I hope you will take the time to read the information and view all 260 photos of the car before bidding.

We acquired the car from the prior owner, and he had it for over 13 years. He purchased it from the legendary Lincoln Land in Clearwater Florida, and even over a decade later, John knew the car right off the bat, and said he felt it was one of the best preserved originals he remembered seeing in a long time.

Prior to that, we know the car came from Virginia, but have not been able to get any owner information from that period.

The car is an exceptionally well-preserved original, with updated paint at some point, and evidence or great care and maintenance using OEM parts whenever possible.

Everything on the car functions as it should, and it might just be the most honest example of a Continental Convertible you will find.

The car wears its birth color of (Code R) Spanish Moss extremely well, and shows wonderfully from every angle.

The paint is glossy, wet, and clean all around, and the car carries only a handful or so minor blemishes from being driven and enjoyed for 13 years by the previous owner. These amount to small stone chips and marks, the majority of which have been touched-up using professionally made paint which is included. Even a cursory glance at all 260 photos will show you that there is certainly nothing that detracts from the appearance of the car, and the blemishes I mention would not even be seen by most passerby. In the interest of correctly describing the car, I must point them out.

There are no signs of any bodywork, panel replacement, or non-steel segments on the car, and a 4" square magnet sticks like glue to all of the many acres of steel the vehicle has.

Underneath and inside the door jambs, you'll see the caps from the Ziebart rust-proofing that was done to the car, and it no-doubt played an important role in preserving its exceptional condition.

Fit, finish, and alignment of all body panels is fantastic, and everything on the car opens and closes tightly, securely, and with no sign of rubbing or chafing.

Chrome, bright work, trim, and emblems on the car are in exceptionally good condition, and show even better in person than in the photographs.

Bumpers are perhaps the nicest I've even seen, windshield surround looks like new, wheel-well and rocker trim is impeccable, and even the upper body trim that runs the length of the car shows like it was just installed at the factory!

All of the exterior lights work the way they should, with everything from the parking lamps to the turn signals functioning perfectly.

Glass is in exceptional condition all around the car, including the glass rear window, functional power vent windows, and full power side glass panels.

Power antenna works perfectly, as do the wiper/washers.

The car rides on original steel wheels with original and unrestored wheel covers, but does have modern radial Michelin tires on all four corners. They are size P235/75R15 and have a modest width whitewall.

Overall, the exterior of the car presents exceptionally from every view point, and it looks even better in person than in the 260 photos provided below.

Under the hood, the original 462ci V8 motor resides in a clean, well-preserved and fully functional engine bay.

Everything is in its place, and correct OEM replacement parts were used whenever possible to allow the car to remain as authentic as possible.

Everything works as it should, and car performs exceptionally well when driving.

Engine bay and everything under the hood show incredibly clean, but you will find light road grime in spots from 67K miles of driving.

Air conditioning system blows cold, and makes even a 100 degree summer day in Florida the perfect time to drop the top.

Radiator and cooling system functions wonderfully, and the car simply does not overheat, even in the Florida climate it has lived and worked in over the past decade.

All hoses, lines, and maintenance items have been replaced as needed to make sure the vehicle was always safe and ready to drive for the previous owner, and his family.

Overall, the engine appears to be about as nice as you ask for in presentation as well as functionality.

Opening the trunk, weather from the dash or the outside panel location, will reveal an exceptionally clean rear area befitting the rest of the car.

Spare tire and jack are intact, ready to use, and discreetly covered. Trunk carpeting and panels are in amazing condition, and show quite wonderfully from every vantage point.

All exposed metal shows beautifully, and there are no signs or any damage, issues, or disrepair in the trunk area.

The entire convertible top system was recently refreshed and gone through, and it works wonderfully, opening and closing in just about a minute and a half, and doing so from either the dash switch or the rear key position next to the fuel door.

As you can see in the photos, the top components are clean, neat, and show like new, along with the clean wiring and lines.

Even the trunk light works!

The only real thing to mention about the trunk area is that the front seal between the body and trunk lid shows wear and cracking. It does not appear to leak water or cause any issue, it just sticks out a bit because everything else is so remarkable.

The interior of the car is just as beautiful as the rest of it is, and you can scroll through the 260 photos below to see 60 photos of it from every angle.

Dash is clean, neat, and shows no cracks or damage.

Dash panel is very nice, and shows the typical light patina they all do, but no damage or disrepair.

Factory AM/FM radio works as it should, and sounds lovely through the dual original speakers.

Factory climate control functions as it should, and offers cold air, hot heat, and easy temperature adjustment with automatic fan control.

Automatic Headlamp Dimmer with concealed Phototube Unit that is incorporated into leading edge of left front fender trim works as it should, and is one of the FIRST of its kind!

Speedometer and trip meter work as they should, and the speedometer is only 3mph faster than a modern GPS shows, which is quite good for a classic car.

Fuel gauges functions as it should, and all of the warning lights come on as required at start up, and then go out, including the trunk open and door open lights.

Power top switch inside the car functions perfectly.

All of the interior courtesy lights work as they should, including the push on/off one located to the right of the steering column.

Only two items were added by the prior owner, and both were done professionally. First, a rear backup sensor system was installed to provide audible alerts to the driver when nearing an object while backing up the car. Second, the ashtray was removed and replaced with a flip-down digital temperature gauge to better monitor operating temp in the hot Florida sun. Back up system is unobtrusive, and could easily be removed without any issue, while the temp gauge can be removed and replaced with the included original ashtray.

Glove box opens and closes as it should, and its light works as well.

Speed control system works and is located directly to the left of the steering column adjacent to the light dimmer control.

Dual sun visors work as they should, and are in very good condition, with the passenger side having a mirror as well.

Door panels are clean and neat all around, with light patina from time on the chrome, and functional switch gearfor windows.

Both the driver and passenger front doors have the inside door lock switch, which was an option on this year.

Door sill bright and trim plates are in great condition, and work as they should.

Door jambs and inners are clean, solid, and exceptionally clean, as our the front, rear and bottom of each door.

The power seat control for the front works as it should, and both the armrest for the front and back seat function as they should, and show minimal wear.

The driver side front seat shows the most signs of use and wear, and while not perfect, it is fully functional, and original to the car according to what we have learned about it.

Passenger front portion shows light patina and wear, and presents nicely.

Rear seats are in very good condition, and show to be in damage free shape with only light signs of use and wear.

Carpeting is in very good condition, and has been covered by large rubber backed thick mats front and rear since 2007. While not perfect, it is certainly clean and presentable while being original to the car from what we know about it. The mats are included, but do show wear and age from protecting the carpet so well.

Foot pedals for E-brake, gas, and brake are in very good condition.

Hood release works as it should.

Steering wheel, shift arm, and signal arm are all in very good condition and function as they should.

Overall, the interior is exceptionally nice, and shows the level of care the car has been given since new.

The underside of the car is a clean and solid chassis, with no rust or rot evident, and no sign of panel repair or replacement.

The previously mentioned rust proofing inside the body was also done to the underside, but you can still clearly see the panels and correctness of the car through the thin protective layer.

Pinch welds, stamp points, and everything else shows the car to be solid and unseparated from its frame at any point.

Yes, it shows oxidation on the springs, nuts, bolts, etc., but it will wipe away with a whisk or a brush or damp towel and is NOT rust. We prefer to show our cars without photo shop or editing or spraying everything with black paint.

Mechanically, the car is in exceptional condition. It starts, runs, drives, and performs beautifully, and my very first experience with it involved a 1.5 hour trip on a June day in Florida that involved driving in city traffic as well as a 45 minute stint on the freeway going 75mph. The car drove PERFECTLY!

It has been exceptionally well-cared for, and has been maintained regularly by the prior owner so that it was ready to go whenever he, or anyone in the family, wanted to take it out for a drive.

Everything works.

It has no known issues or problems, and has not leaked or wept fluid during its 2 months with us prior to this listing.

It starts right up, idles cleanly, and drives as though it were 1966 all over again.

I truly believe the first person to come see and drive it will buy it. It is just amazing.

I took 260 photos of it from every angle I could, and I encourage you to ask questions, come see it, or arrange for an inspection if you want to PRIOR TO BUYING IT.

I don't have anything to hide, and have tried to cover every part of the vehicle as best I could.

The vehicle is located in our Fort Myers, FL warehouse, and is just 20 minutes away from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) if you want to fly in and see it.

I welcome outside inspection services BEFORE YOU BUY OR BID.
