The automobile is the perfect technological symbol of American culture, a tangible expression of our quest to level space, time, and class and a reflection of our relentless mobility, social and otherwise. You see automobiles advertised the world over described as California cars because at some point they were in California or drove through California. A true California car is one that was sold new in California and titled in California, one that has the original plates that are on that title is a true California car.We are liquidating a collection of 300 actual California cars. This is a collection that took 70 years to comprise. Most have the original paint and original California licence plates issued to them when they were new. This 1977 Lincoln Mark V is not just a car its an "Automobile". It is trulya beautiful example of the best the Ford Motor company had to offer in 1977.The Mark V was the ultimate expression of brazen 1970s American luxury car design and turned out to be one of the last stands for the biggest of the breed. This car really has only spent 15 years of its life on the road and then put away into storage. The preservation of originality on this car is tremendous, inside and out there are the signs of a car that hasn't see much use looking as it did when new. This particular car was special ordered as Luxury group car and built in March of 1977. The Luxury group gave Lincoln Mark series buyers the opportunityto custom build their Mark V to their taste from the colors of the paint, roof, roof style, body side molding color, a painted pinstripewas standard for the Luxury optioned cars, hubcap options, Leather and vinyl interior colors. Exterior wise this car is as beautiful as it has ever been. The original Cream paint is in great shape and shines very nicely, as well as the originalpainted pinstripe. The Gold tinted sunroof shines and looks great. There are no rips in the Vinyl top. The passenger side door has a small scrap and ding as well as a few paint chips where the vinyl meets the trunk. All the chrome shines great and nothing is missing. Cosmetically this car is in great original condition with few flaws. The interior is fantastic and screams 1977. The Gold and Cream leather and Vinyl look great and are a dream to lie back and cruise in with an emphasis on comfort and style. There are no rips from use however there are some tears on the back of the rear seats from age. There are no cracks in the dash. The carpet looks good no big stains. The door panelsare in great shape on piece feel off on the drivers but is not missing. The headliner is flawless and does not hang or have any tears in it. The interior of this car matches the exterior in originalityand overall nice condition. Mechanically this car is in good condition. The 400 v8 starts up and drives fine. The c6 shift smooth in all gears as well as reverse. All the lights work. What is really cool is there are many factory chalk marks visible ll over the engine bay and motor.
