Description of 1989 Lincoln Town Car |
I have up for auction one 1989 Lincoln Town car. I am the 3rd owner. not the 4th as stated on auto check. I utilized the vehicle this year on a very limited basis. I put approximately 3. 50 miles on this car. The car itself runs flawless. It shifts through the gears perfect; the motor runs impeccable. The car is originally from NJ as I have the original books on the car and where it was purchased by the last owner. the person who owned the car last could not drive anymore so his child received the car and traded it in for a newer vehicle. Such a shame as this vehicle would have lasted them for years to come. The ONLY reason I am selling it now is that I have another Lincoln Towncar I drive. which I have owned that for a number of years. and I just don't need this car and don't want it sitting around. It deserves to be drivin as its not good for them to sit there. I start it and drive it once a week just to keep the battery charged. To my knowledge I haven't noticed any oil leaks or any other engine leaks of any form. I changed the oil using pure synthetic as that is all I use in my vehicles and I'm definitely not over the miles. I checked it last week and it's still on the full mark. Those 5. 0 engine are the strongest engine Ford could've ever built. It's tough and this one will definitely last you for years and years. I wouldn't be afraid to get in this car and drive it to Cross country. I gave the air conditioner a recharge and it blew really cold air the entire time I drove the car and when I parked it it was still blowing cold. I haven't ran it in awhile so I'm not sure. but there shouldn't be anything wrong with the air. The heat blows REALLY HOT as well. The tires have a lot of life left on them. They shouldn't need changing for a few more thousand miles. On to the negatives. The interior needs a minor Facelift. Hey. what do you expect? It's orginal. Never been worked on at all. The seats are in descent shape for a 25 year old vehicle. There is a common problem ford. especially these model Lincolns have and they would be the windows. I tried messing with them. but they either need new window motors OR they need to be taken apart and looked at. I'm not sure what is wrong with them. The drivers side back left quarter panel above the tire has a small dent in it. I was parked in a parking lot and someone tapped the car a little. It's not bad at all and can be easily fixed. I was so mad as they didn't stop. but that's typical of people. The rest of the body is straight. solid. has a few scratches. but that's about it. Like I said. she's not perfect. but it runs STRONG. I don't even want to sell it. but unfortunately I believe someone else would have better use for it. I just don't have time to do what I want to do with it. The car would be a perfect restoration car if someone wants to take the time to do it theirself or a weekend project. I'm open to offers. but PLEASE no low ball offers. I'll keep it before I get rid of it for nothing. It's one hell of a car. New spark plugs. wires. cap and rotor. throttle position sensor. and radiator flush with new fluid. |
