Description of 1956 Lincoln Continental |
This 1956 Lincoln Continental is in excellent condition, and has the super desirable factory Air Conditioning option! Better yet, the Factory A/C works! And of course the big 368 Cubic inch V-8, power steering, power brakes, power seat, power windows, AM Radio, and full instrumentation including tachometer! . Beautiful in its factory shade of light green! A perfect 1950's color, chosen by the Continental division to highlight the beautiful lines of this car. Lincoln put a huge amount of effort into these cars, giving them their own division - the Continental division - and pricing them at $10,000 when new, the same as a contemporary Rolls Royce. Or 5 Ford Customlines, whichever you prefer! 1956LincolnContinentalMkII - YouTube Video will open in a new window Using the eBay App? Paste link into a browser window: [isdntekvideo] . There is plenty of chrome on this car, and it's in excellent condition. In comparison to most other American luxury cars, this one was done in a tasteful and restrained way. . The paint is excellent, and the factory color is very pleasing. Note the correct stainless flexible exhaust pipe peeking out from the fenderwell. There's an echo of the Duesenberg SJ pipes here! . Beautiful! Only 2,419 Continental Mark II's were built in 1956, with an additional 572 in 1957. . Here's an example of the high quality, high cost, and attention to detail on the Continental - these hubcaps were hand assembled, each fin is fastened to the hubcap separately! . the Continental bump for the spare tire, a Continental brand identifier carried forward from the 1940's Continentals. Note the excellent chrome and tail lights . Since a gas cap flap would interfere with the styling, the tailight conceals the gas filler! . Beautiful! . Excellent interior, with soft white leather and matching light green accents. . Although the restoration isn't brand new, the interior was done in high quality leather in the correct pattern, and it's lovely, soft and supple! . Beautiful doorpanels and door edges. Note the chrome on the door edge too. . Excellent rear compartment . Beautiful headliner. Note the AC vents . Another view of the AC vents . Beautiful gauges and instrument faces. All work except the clock . Excellent leather dashboard. the AM town & Country radio works well! We also see the climate control, with the AC lever on the far right. . Factory data plate. . The 368 Cubic inch, 285 Horsepower Lincoln V-8 is very powerful and runs great! . Nice looking, correct engine bay. . The original carburetor, nice and clean. It's obvious that this car had a high quality restoration and good care. . The stainless shielding starts near the manifold and runs down through the fenderwell. . the entire exhaust system looks fresh and recent. . Clean engine bay. This car looks to me like a frame-on restoration, an older but very high quality effort. . Proper oil bath air cleaner and snorkle . Clean trunk with jack, jack bag, spare and front license plate. . Although the rear mounted condenser says "use Freon 12", this system has been updated to the more modern Freon R-134, so it'll work and be rechargeable. . Undercarriage is reasonably clean and very solid and rust-free. . Good shape underneath . Original rust free floorpans . Beautiful ! The Continental styling got this car exactly right. . Perfect long hood shorter deck proportions. . Excellent! . Very pretty indeed! . Wow! . Rare, desirable, and in excellent condition!Offered by the Vault Classic Cars Dealership, Fullerton, CA, call us at 714-401-1047
