Description of 1962 Lincoln Continental |
Up for auction is a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind 1962 Lincoln Continental. I bought this car in 2013 with the idea of creating something very unique. The 4-door Lincoln, with it's suicide doors, is an iconic body style, and I wanted to take it to the next level by adding more style, more power, and more luxury. I contacted C&J Classics and Muscle Cars in Lebanon, MO, for the build. C&J already had experience installing Hemi engines into '60s vehicles, and their fabrication skills were top-notch. We started with a rust-free Lincoln that was driven from the Kansas City area to Lebanon, a distance of 225 miles. Once in Lebanon, the Lincoln was completely torn down to its body shell. From there, a 6.4L crate Hemi was installed, along with a 4L60E 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, and a Currie 9" rear end. The engine swap and associated fabrication alone took a massive amount of hours to complete. Every facet of the car was touched: body, suspension, brakes, interior, air conditioning, wheels, etc. No expense was spared in making a stunning example of a hot rod luxury cruiser. The build took over two years and the fabrication, paint, and interior reflect the supreme craftsmanship and attention to detail that make this automobile a rolling piece of art. Since it's completion, it has traveled over 7000 miles to car shows from Michigan to Tennessee. Listed below is a summary of the modifications made to this Lincoln.
