Original S1 Esprit. Enthusiast owned. Good runner/driver. The first Esprit was produced in a quantity of only 580 cars worldwide (LotusEspritWorld.com) This iconic seventies & eighties supercar penned by delorean body designer and car designer of the century Giorgetto Giugiaro was a dream car for myself and countless others during adolescence. These iconic, edge shape, iberglass supercars will continue to be coveted by car collectors the world and increasing values reflect that. This Esprit is a federal (US Spec car) vin # 327H originally sold in California. The car has been upgraded to Dellorto carburetors and Euro bumpers as well an an upgraded s2 style front air dam for better cooling... An after market fan/blower has been installed to vent engine area in a manner similar to that which was used on the s2 esprit... It is in good running and driving condition with a fresh oil change 5 miles ago... The car is in decent cosmetic shape with a nice interior with one nickel size separation of leather stitching on the drivers seat. Esprit owners will attest that this is what happens when someone plops down too fast in the car. The exterior of the car is where the greatest improvement can be made. The car is in need of a repaint though I have decided that it presents well enough and drove it as is... Even a buffing could do a lot cosmetically... My mechanic recommended replacing a bushing in the shift linkage though the car is driving fine currently. The original citroen transaxle is in great shape since the car has such low milage... I had the brakes bled and the car stops as it should but further attention to the brake hydraulic system is recommended and usually called for on these cars... Additional: The esprit chasis' were not galvanized from the factory until the s3's came out... I had my mechanic visually inspect the chassis for rust issues and it looked great... I am sorry that I did not have him take pictures when the car was up in the air... Id also like to add that the leather in the interior is very soft and supple which leads me to believe that it was previously redone- this is good because doing it right is not inexpensive... The interior piece pictured placed on the center console in one picture is part of that which covers the steering column... Both pieces are intact/complete and will come installed on the car though they were off when I took these photos... The car is missing the finishers for the from the front headlights. These are available from the UK... Call Daniel with questions 443-223-9025. Shipping must be arranged by buyer. Car is located in 98502. Update: I am updating the ad to include the obligatory mention that this is the car that James Bond drives in "The spy who loved me"- in the film the car turns into a submarine. I dreamt of esprit ownership for years and the car did not disappoint. I am letting her go to fund a down payment on a house.
