Description of 1969 Maserati Other

Well here goes the story of this 1969 Maserati Mexico it was purchased new from the 1968 Chicago auto show by a wealthy lawyer from the north shore area. He gave the car to his son to take to Carnegie Mellon university looks like the kid had a good time with it because when he came back for the summer with it the car had bald tires all five even the spare was bald I was just 6 when my father who owned a body shop in Barrington IL had the owner bring the car to my father who was very well known for his work on imports he was always a perfectionist and ask him about repair the car had a few spots of minor body damage and needed a few parts which back the in late 1970 early 1971 or so were available but could take months to get so rather than fix it he asked my father if he was interested and of course my dad with his love for import and exotic cars couldn't pass it up well so there the car sat in our body shop in Barrington IL it was one of those things that when we had time we would eventually get to it as time goes it kept going and going so the car was kept inside a controlled enviorment for over 42 years. My father fell ill from cancer in 2012 I decided it was time resurrect the Maserati so maybe I could take my father for a ride like he took when I was six but too much needed to be done and unfourtunatley he passed before I could finish. Now for the good stuff the car has just over forty thousand original miles which 4500. or so were from me the car has been completely gone through everything basically removed cleaned and or rebuilt every nut and bolt all reassembled with original parts any seals or things that needed replacing were all done the car runs and drives incredible the sound is incredible it sounds absolutely as it should all original headers and exaust all the way back incredibly clean the bottom of the car is perfect clean as is the body and interior the front seats show some wear from in and out entry no holes or tears but will be fixing before car is deliverd . The dash and gauges are still beautiful the trunk is clean like new have original tool kit all tools original jack with pouches for both have original owners manual. original Borani wheels are magnificent perfect . it may be the most original finest Maserati Mexico anywhere . It has the 4. 2 liter v8 with four weber carburators five speed trans four wheel disc brakes power steering option plus the rare posi traction option as well plus air conditioning. if interested in car will be happy to answer as many questions as you like or if want the car to be available for inspection it can be. you can hear the car run if you look on you tube under. 1969 Maserati Mexico accelerating through five gears. this car is going straight up on the haggerty car valuation chart and trends I expect it to go up again at the end of upcoming quarterly report. car was shown at the Magnificent Masterpiece show in 2014 and took second in the best of class the first time it was ever seen in public viewing without even a good detail job at the time. this is a magnificent car
