Description of 1977 Mazda Cosmo

1977 Mazda Cosmo 5 speed. It's all there but 1 piece of trim. It can look good again without too much work. Had a cheap paint job at some point, then someone primed it poorly but I sanded a bit and the original paint is still there so easy sand and shoot if you like. Was originally black so would also look good with color change since under hood and all are still black. Has a couple rust spots behind the wheels and some on the front air dam below bumper, but nothing for a 40 year old Japanese car. Probably because it has been off the road for 20 years. See picture of last emissions sticker.
Car body is much straighter than it looks in the pictures. Trunk lid would need to be sanded down to metal as paint is cracked.
Car was single owner for years, then and engineer from a local Dyno company got it and put 13B bridge port engine in it. It starts up and runs but is not street-able as is. He couldn't emission so it sat for 10 years. I bought a set of good irons I am including in price that will swap right in to go back to slightly larger than stock ports or just do primaries so it will idle and you can emission which was my intension. You could do that or keep as is and race it.
Interesting car - all coil suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, much more advanced than RX2 RX3 or RX4.
There are none around. Super rare.
I bought it, cleaned out fuel system, properly re-comissioned the engine, soaking the internals with oil for several days. Since then we rebuilt carb, points, cap rotor wires etc. Brand new tires as the old ones were dry rotted. It starts and runs but the bridge porting means it sort of idles at 2000+ coughing and spitting. See a YouTube video of 'Mazda bridge port idle' and you will know what it has. From 4500 up its a rocket. I drove it enough on a temp tag to verify it runs strong, the gear box is solid, suspension is OK. You cannot drive it however as the brakes are unsafe. I will start it up for you so you can hear and see it run.
Has original owner's manual and a bunch of additional documents including a xeroxed copy of service manual sent by engineer in Hiroshima Japan the previous owner befriended.
Had some things come up and I don't have the time to complete it myself.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking.
