Description of 1984 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE |
|
1984 RX7 GSLSE for sale 175k mi on car, rebuilt motor ~10k mi ago. Car is in great condition, and can use some aesthetic work to get it to classic show quality. I've taken this on three road rallies over the last three summers in 120-degree temperatures, ~500-700-miles, up and down elevation through Ojai, Bakersfield, Porterville, Sequoia, and back down - all back roads. The water and oil temp never rose above 200-degrees (normal running temp for this car is 180-190-degrees). The only issues I had on these long trips was fuel delivery tuning. I've always made the trip out and back on my own power. That said, it's all sorted now. Sings like a sewing machine. I've made some adjustments to keep up better with some of the more modern cars I was with. I've stiffened up the suspension, added a much beefier front sway bar, new springs, front adjustable coil-over set up, adjustable dampening all around, 4.77 rear end, changed out bushings and end links all around, upgraded the brakes, new wheels, new tires, and staggered the rear out for better grip. I wouldn't hesitate to take it on another road rally any given weekend. I drive the car 2-3x a week to work to keep it moving, but am downsizing the stable. It's a simple car, always a pleasure to drive, and I'll will be sad to see it go. Video from last road rally: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHrlIS6pqrE The rx-7 is currently registered, street-driven, daily-driver reliability, with a clean title. You'll be responsible for smog.
