Description of 1988 Mazda RX-7 |
Pros: The Wankel has approximately 40K on it since it was put in the car. It is an S5 Turbo 4 Port running NA. The RX7 has a full Racing Beat Header and dual exhaust with two CAT Converters. All the EGR ports are blocked off it’s got a SMOG legal K & N intake all vacuum lines replaced with thick wall silicone oil metering lines replaced when the S5 4 port was dropped in & plugs and wires were recently replaced. The center drive shaft was replaced with a serviceable Mazda Trix unit. Front struts are newer KYB’s and the rears are Bilstein’s the steering rack and tie rods were just replaced and it has new tires with less than 5K on them. Brakes are stock size but all are cross drilled and there is good pad life left. The stock BBS wheels are in good shape and have center caps. The top was also replaced and functions without any issues and it will come with the factory tenue cover. The A/C does work and blows cold; it’s got a Momo Millennium steering wheel and a Blox shift knob with a Mazda Trix short shift kit. There is probably more than I’m forgetting but this RX7 has been a very reliable car and has been driven primarily between Southern California and Boise Idaho where it currently resides and is garaged on a regular basis. Cons: The paint is ok there are some ships and it could use a re-spray but is it presentable. The suspension bushings should be replaced. The passenger window regulator is not working the stock seats were replaced with Miata seats (not really a con to me though) and some of the interior plastic is starting to show their age. There is no smog equipment (EGR Smog Pump). This is my father’s car and it’s time to pass it on to someone that will appreciate and care for it. I would drive this car across the country without hesitation. It has been an amazing car and has surprised us as it’s been very reliable. The RX7 is currently in Boise ID and a test drive can be arranged if you are local. If sold out of state it is the buyer’s responsibility to pick it up or arrange shipping. Thank you for looking |
