1978 300CD in excellent running and driving condition. This car is an extremely dry example and spent all its life garaged in the dry climates of Malibu and then Arizona. Starts, uns, tops just as it should and has been meticulously maintained. Pros: Engine runs like a Swiss watch. Leaks no oil and has had a strict and regular maintenance schedule. Stacks of receipts for maintenance and upgrade items included. Recent (2012) professional overhaul of the transmission by reputable German specialist. ($2,569.00) All gauges and electrical components are fully functional, ncluding sliding sunroof. Within the last one to two years I have done all of the following (and more): Fully rebuilt the front end with, new tie rods, ontrol arms and bushings, ower control arms and ball joints. Repacked wheel bearings and a front end alignment. Upgraded glowplug assemblies installed (Pencil Style, rom Mercedes Source). New water pump, hermostat and radiator, ower steering pump drain and refill. Valves adjusted and new valve cover gasket and new fuel filters Brake fluid changed (2012) and brake pads still have lots of life left. New differential fluid (2012) Brand new Battery (9/15) New Alternator (9/15) with warranty card Just passed emissions in June Cons: Vacuum door/trunk lock disabled and was too annoyed to chase down the leak. Body: Passenger front fender has a couple paint spots that need attention fender tip and wheel well. (see photos) A/C: Compressor recently failed. System is complete and was working as of this spring. Will require a new compressor and one hose. (Recommend a new rotary style compressor that zaps less power, hich is available new and fits on existing mount for $299) Interior: Defrost and vents work for heat, ut the 'floor' vents are inoperable. Heat works great otherwise. Some fading and a few small tears on the front seats. Drivers floor mat worn through (currently covered with a rubberized mat) Rear seats are very nice but are slightly dry at the head rest area. Dash has typical cracks but are now nicely covered with a dash pad. (see photos) Overall, his car is ready for a long life with its new owner. It has been well maintained and you can feel it when you are behind the wheel. This is a 36 year old car and is not perfect, ut has certainly aged well. If you are local and want to see the car, hat is fine with me. Bid with confidence.Fly into Phoenix and drive this baby home!I will pick you up at the airport (Phoenix Sky Harbor - PHX).
