Sadly, I must part with my 1977 240d. It has been a highly reliable daily driver for me for the past nine years. I have spared no expense in keeping it in tip top mechanical shape. It runs and drives great. Engine is in great shape--powerful and smooth. Transmission shifts smoothly just as it should. Brakes are fine--done a couple of years ago. Everything works, but the AC needs a charge. It has the updated glow plugs--so always fires right up fast.I have particularly liked the manual transmission--makes it feel rather like a sports car. I have liked the orange color (officially called English Red). It has always been in Oregon, so no exposure to salt roads. The Mercedes makes a very nice appearance. The paint does have a bit of sun fading here and there but my mechanic says it could be buffed out to get the original shine. The dash is excellent--no cracks. There is a rip with some missing materialon the drivers side seat. It hasn't bothered me butyou might want to get that repaired or covered. The carpet on the driver's side has worn through in an area. I have enjoyed the sporty feel of this car and appreciated how reliable and economical it is. This engine is famous for being able to hit 500,000 or more miles. I am confident this one will make that figure. I would not hesitate to drive it cross country. I have routinely changed the oil andhad the valves adjusted. I have many thousands of dollars in receipts for repairs. And it has the original booklets and metal dealersmetal stamp plate initially issued by the dealer with the car. If you would like a fun to drive highly reliable vehicle this might be for you. Because of its age, it is sold with no warranty. Please only bid if you are serious, and if you have little ebay feedback, please contact me before bidding. Please note it is being sold with no reserve--so you may get it for a very good price.... Thanks for your interest!
