Description of 1986 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

This is an excellent example of the rapidly rising in price classic Mercedes Benz 560SL. This is the final years of the series R107 and with the 5.6L V8 Mercedes got it right. This is particular car is a rare Petrol Green exterior with Creme Beige interior. Color matched hardtop with dark brown soft top, and 83k miles, Louisiana car until 2012. Get in, turn on and go. Its been very well taken care of with numerous replacement of parts in the recent years, which is necessary if these cars are not driven. All parts were replaced with OEM parts with very few exceptions. Everything was done to make this a reliable weekend driver without excuses or little fixes needed.
Here is a short list of the items replaced or repaired since 2012:
New Goodyear Assurance Comfortred tires
New brake cylinders on front, new discs and pads all around
New MB Hartz cloth top
New custom 100% sheepskin seat covers
New wood for dash and center console
New exhaust
New timing chain, guides and valve guides
Tune up (plugs, wires, fuel filter, K&N filter)
New fuel injectors
Fuel injection system cleaned and tuned
New radiator
New hoses and belts
New fuel pump
Rebuilt power steering gear box
New Bilstein shocks front and rear
New steering dampener
New OEM sun visors
JVC Bluetooth stereo and new Alpine dash and rear speakers (mounted out of sight under parcel shelf)
Rebuilt power antenna
Cocomat floor mats
The result is a near flawless car. Being 30 years old though, there are a couple very minor issues that make it less than 100% perfect. Paint around the rear tonneau has a couple scratches that are a little difficult to picture. Also, there is a very small ding in the hardtop from what appears to have occurred when the top was stored as it was not on the car since 2012. The HVAC system is not operating at the moment, discovered that very recently and will try to diagnosis and repair.
This car has one of the most eye catching color combinations. No matter where I go I get positive comments from people... I can't stop for gas or coffee without someone coming over to talk (which is part of the joy of owning a classic car). When it is clean and the sun is shining it is like a jewel. There is ZERO rust on this car, everything is as it should be. Jack points are clear as are other areas on the car. Was a southern car most of its life and it shows. Buy with confidence that this will be an excellent example for your driver, weekend car, or classic that will continue to appreciate in value as you enjoy it.
