Description of 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Wagon

1980 300TD Wagon. I towed the body home without engine from Escondido, CA in 2008.
Added a 5 cylinder TD engine from a local car with a failed transmission.

Converted the following:
- added 4 speed manual with custom TIG welded front driveshaft; 38lb flywheel from a euro
car, match balanced to old torque plate; pressure plate and transmission from a 240D,
resealed with new linkage parts.
- removed the ACC1 Chrysler manufactured climate control and replaced it with manual heater
and dash control; A/C compressor and ACC1 sub-harness deleted. Heat works but is missing the
plastic dash bezel.
- replaced the rear springs with heavy duty version from 300SD. Sachs 300D rear shocks replace
self leveling studs. Self leveling pump, tank, accumulators and lines intact.
- refurbed injectors, glow plugs in the last 3 years {less than 2,000 miles since}.
- interior parts are all complete, but some need to be re-installed; door jamb trim, dash underpanels, and .carpet pieces are included, but remain stacked in rear of vehicle.
- rust is limited to edges of sunroof; a slight spall from right rear window seal; and leading edges
of front cowl. Tailgate, door jambs, rockers, underbody parts, fender wells and all structural
parts are in good to excellent condition.
- paint is sun burned from two decades in desert {Escondido, CA}. Original paint except re-spray of
right front door.
- right rear door has been pushed in a bit and is missing the molding.
- right rear corner has a ding, damage on stainless trim above tail lamp.
