You are viewing a Vintage Mercedes 1973 450sl roadster convertable. This is a "Original USA" model" Not A Gray Market "European conversion. It is Red with Blk leather seats(new covers).Since early 450sl's had no center arm rests,I fabricated one from styrofoam and installed it into the cover that came with the seat cover kit.It just sits in the console .The body is totally RUST FREE top and bottom. The soft top is black canvas and in great shape overall. The plastic windows are totally visible. There have been so many new parts installed recently. EG:Bosch fuel pump and filter.Waterpump, belt, hoses,tune-up parts new front speaker, Pioneer am/fm/cd player/ blue tooth phone,New OE plush matts.Installed used mercedes W126 large rear deck speakers.(mounted on 2" insulation board and covered with blk cloth.to preserve OE deck). I also have original Becker Europa II AM/FM radio (no sound).Equipted with OE Hirschman power antenna(mounted Left/Frontfender ).It has 4 16" BBS alloy wheels with Perrelli summer tires(fair shape),and it also has 4 mercedes 14" alloy wheels with winter tires(like new ).Spare tire on alloy rim (never used) Included are the OE tool kit wrapped in canvas pouch and soft top tools. I very rarely drove it in bad weather. The A/C and heater function properly. There is a crack in the dash pad (at speed-o-meter hump see pics) and several small nicks in the paint.OE 2 piece seat belts( lap belt with clip on shoulder harness). The sun visors have lost there stiffnes, but still function properly. The trunk compartment is missing the OE rubber matts and has been lined with regular carpeting. The rear trunk seal is cracked in a couple of place, but is still plyable. The chrome trunk lid handle has small tarnished spot directly below the star. Since early sl's had the battery installed under the hood instead of the trun, after market carpeting doesn't fit properly. The car may have had some paint and body work done thru the years, but it is a stunning car to behold and drive.Mostly everywhere you look you see OE equiptment exhaust, lites etc.Until recently I owned and operated an independent Mercedes repair shop in Orange NJ for over 37yrs. I can say that this is one of the best examples of a 450sl I have dealt with.I obtained this vehicle thru default several years ago. A great long time client's Son brought this car to me to repair as a gift for his Dad. The mistake I made was treating the son in the same manner as I treated the dad.I would call for work authorization and was always given the OK to proceed. The repair costs climbed and when I really needed some payments to be made,I suddenly found it hard to even make contact with the son. His mail box was full and unable to receive messages.I tried going thru the Da, but I found out that blood is thicker than water. I than had to obtain the title thru a reputable title recovery company.Which required several hundred $'s. They had to send letters and adds in newspapers.Since the son never transfered the title I never was able to see what mileage was on the original. To make matters worse when the paperwork was filed the mileage was recorded as 139000 miles(at the time the reading was 039089),even considering that Mercedes oddometers will read 6 figures rather than go back to zero. The oddometer now reads 040372 miles it is my opinion considering the condition of the car that the true mileage is closer to 40k than140k. To coin the old cliche' You really have to see this car to appreciate it. This car is offered "AS IS" with no warranty or guarantees implied. Please feel free to contact me for further pictures and info. Thanks Damon
