Description of 1967 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series ?

This is a 1967 Mercedes-Benz 200D. I assume that my father was the 3rd owner. He purchased it in 1994 and it's the car I learned to drive on. It has been on the road ever since, sometimes a daily driver, sometimes not. It's the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned, but surely deserves a restoration. It has the original engine which does need attention, but it's needed attention for several years and just keeps on going. It will start and drive and I had been driving it daily from Pensacola to Sandestin daily for months on end. I am an honest mechanic, buyer and seller, so I will recommend that it become a short restoration project. By the way, I have more in extra parts than the car itself is worth. For an enthusiastic buyer, this would be a steal.
If you were to prefer making it a daily driver, it would need a starter (It starts, but it takes a trick), also I have 3 extra starters with which to build a fully functional one or two. The engine is tired, but always starts and has never let me down through no fault of my own (running out of fuel!) The heater has been bypassed. The fuel gauge doesn't currently work, but included in the sale is an entire pod cluster which includes the gauge. The interior is all original but the upholstery itself will need some work. The windshield has 1 crack from top to bottom, but included in spare parts are every single piece of glass needed. The knob for the headlight switch has broken off.
This was the last year for the Heckflosse (fintail) and although the diesel models were popular, they are particularly rare in the US. I have always referred to this model as the industrial strength passenger car and given its minor needs, will serve and has served over a half of a century and still going strong. All she needs is the right new owner.
Extra parts:
Countless NOS trim pieces and hardware
Complete rear end suspension
5 speed manual transmission in working order
All items to assemble the same diesel, except cylinder head
Drive shafts
Tail lights, housings and trim
Switches, wiring harnesses and Mercedes-Benz specific connectors
Bumpers with trim for a deluxe model
There are more parts than I can think of, but there are plenty enough to make this a beautiful example of a priceless piece of handcrafted German engineering. I consider myself a purist, so if you are planning on putting a V8 in it and ruining the pure beauty, please look elsewhere. I am in no hurry to sell and strongly prefer that it goes to a passionate buyer. If you have any other questions please let me know.
