Description of 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series |
1993 MERCEDES 300D 2.5 LITER TURBO DIESEL 198K MILES 4 DOOR SEDAN SILVER SMOOTH RIDE!! Here's a short list of things that need attention:Dash lights are outA/C / HEATER blower not working. A/C feels good, as does the heat, but blower doesn't come on. Thermostat seems to work.Windows not working. Back windows need motors.Plugged heater into lighter outlet, blew something, and now the front windows and lighter not working. Sun roof works though.Front bumper cover gone, as shown in pics.Leaks diesel. Had numbers 4 and 5 injectors replaced, as they appeared to be leaking diesel, but that didn't fix problem.Probably needs new key set, as the keys that I have are not originals, and are worn. Door locks work, but keys won't unlock. That said, the ignition switch is also missing. The key still starts the car, but so does a screw driver.... I did mention that it needs some TLC right!!I'm sure there's other things that need to be addressed too, so be ready to be a week-end warrior in the garage for awhile!!It starts up great every time. It doesn't seem to have alot of power, as it takes a while to reach any kind of speed, but once it's there, it just goes and goes. Have made dozens of week-end trips of 500 plus miles, no problem. Benz is being sold as is. Some of the items that do work. Original Radio works, and I have the code. I just recently had a new battery installed, and when I went to turn on the radio, it ask for the code. Luckily, the original owner wrote it down in one of the books that came with the car. A few things that I've done recently (last year or so), a new battery, new engine shock and assembly, new oil pressure sensor, and oil changes. Still needs a decent amount of work yet to be done, as mentioned above. One great thing that I don't want to forget, is the fact that there is no rust to speak of!! A few minor surface spots on the hood, but that about it. Have posted a few pics of the underside of the car, have a look. Paint on the car is fair, good in some places, and bad in other places. Not sure, but it appears that the clear coat is gone on the bad spots When it's running good, I've gotten up to 38 mpg!! Well, there you have it. Really love the car, but it's just become too much of a project for me. Don't drive it much anymore since it started leaking diesel, so it just sits here in the garage. The car is 25 years old, and it's not perfect, but it's always been reliable, so bid accordingly. Concerning pick-up....Vehicle must be picked up no later than 5 days of end of auction, Thanks. SEE PICS FOR DETAILS, GOOD LUCK AND THANK YOU!! |
