Description of 1962 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 220S |
Clean title. This 53 year old stallion runs good and is a great weekend driver. It has a burgundy exterior. cream interior and fintail design. I purchased the vehicle from the original owner 13 years ago. Prior owner rebuild the 6-cylinder engine and had the car repainted. I re-chromed the exterior but one piece of accent chrome is missing from the driver side roof. The car has no service records and no AC. The clock and the gas gauge does not work but the warning light comes on when the gas gets low. I also recently replaced the gas tank and the battery. The radio and speakers are aftermarket and do not work. The interior is original and needs to be redone. including the wood. There's a chip in the windshield that has been epoxied. I had a section of rust cut out from the trunk. above the passenger wheel. It was taken out and patched with a new piece of metal. however. rust is still present in the area. Interior chrome is pitted. There are small areas of rust the size of pin points in a few locations. There is a crack in the driver's side headlight. I purchased the car when the speedometer was around 10. 00. I am sure that the speedometer has rolled over since it only goes to 99. 99. The transmission in manual 4-speed on the column. The car is awesome and always generates positive feedback and conversation. |
