Description of 1988 Mercedes-Benz 500-Series R107 |
Hello Everyone, What I have for sale is my 1998 Mercedes Benz 560SL. I bought this car from the original owner sometime ago to restore and use. I have put in a fair amount of work into it and made it what it is today. With that being said, it still is a work in progress and could use some finishing touches to make it a 100%. The car runs and drives pretty well. It has 200k miles on the cluster however the previous owner said was replaced. The Carfax shows a lot lower so i do believe it. And even if is, Don't let that scare you, if you know these cars, Mercedes made them very stout and durable and probably last another 100k. Unfortunately, I do not have any of the service records but I was told by the owner it was well taken care of at Mercedes all its life. This I have gave it a fresh tune up, replaced all the fuses to the upgraded ceramic ones. Changed most of the relays, added LED lighting to the interior and exterior, new mast antenna and added brand new tires and rare 16" BBS RA wheels (will include OEM wheels with the sale). Many of the front end parts have been replaced included tie rods and ball joints. The car is lowered only in the front with cut springs. If you don't like it, replacement front springs can be found on Ebay for $100. Originally, the paint had some fading and cracking. So I wanted a different look and went with a modern flat paint (still stock color). Some of the cons about the car is it has some common rust on the rocker panels (jack points) The blower motor is not working, the car idles high, seats and center wood console have some cracking. The transmission is leaking some fluid due it not being used as much as it should be. The soft top is in pretty good shape minus the rear plastic is a bit faded. Lastly, This car is originally from Connecticut and they do not issue titles for cars over 20 years. I have a bill of sale and documentation from the state of CT. you can check for yourself on their DMV website. Currently with my schedule and family, I do not have the time to use the car or keep restoring it. I would like it to go to someone who would use it more and finish it. I am asking $7200 or best reasonable offer. Please feel free to contact me for any questions or concerns @ 718-450-0416 |
