Description of 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

Up for sale is my 1991 Mercedes 300E. This car has been in my family since it was new in 1991. and I purchased it from my uncle in 2012 with 84. 00 miles on it after the head gasket failed. It now has 126. XX miles on the clock and I have put a large amount of work in to it over the last two years. All work was done by me (I am a pre 95 Mercedes mechanic) or at the dealer and only genuine Mercedes or German parts were used. I continually service and maintain the vehicle. and it is driven casually. Service: Head gasket and head service done at 84. 00 miles (head and valves machined and resurfaced. Victor Reinz parts) Radiator replaced at 84. 00 miles (Nissens) Water pump replaced at 84. 00 miles (Laso) Accessory belt tensioner and pulley replaced at 84. 00 miles (Sachs and Febi) Thermostat replaced at 84. 00 miles (Wahler) Thermostat housing replaced at 84. 00 miles (Mercedes) Valve cover gasket replaced at 120. 00 miles (Mercedes)Throttle Microswitch replaced at 125. 00 miles (Mercedes) Only Zerex G-05 coolant used Front struts replaced at 85. 00 miles (Sachs) Front strut boots and bump stops replaced at 85. 00 miles (Mercedes) Rear Shocks replaced at 85. 00 miles (Bilstein) Rear Spindle Bushings replaced at 85. 00 miles (Lemforder) Front lower ball joints replaced at 85. 00 miles (Lemforder) Tie rods replaced at 100. 00 miles (Mercedes) Steering damper shock replaced at 100. 00 miles (Bilstein)Shock Tower Mounts at 125. 00 miles (Rein) Alternator voltage regulator replaced at 105. 00 miles (Bosch) AC Evaporator replaced at 110. 00 miles (ACM) AC Expansion valve replaced at 110. 00 miles (ACM) AC Receiver Drier replaced at 110. 00 miles (Mercedes) AC recharged with R12 New tires at 118. 00 miles (General Altimax) Alignment performed at Mercedes at 118. 00 miles Front flex disk replaced by Mercedes (Mercedes) Drivers door lock replaced by Mercedes (Mercedes) New key. three keys total Transmission K1 spring replaced at 115. 00 miles (Mercedes) Transmission filter replaced at 115. 00 miles (Mann) Transmission modulator adjusted at 120. 00 miles Transmission filled with DexIII (Mercedes) Overload Protection Relay replaced at 115. 00 miles (KAE) Engine Temp switch replaced at 120. 00 miles (Mercedes) Aux fan relay replaced at 120. 00 miles (Mercedes) Spark plugs replaced at 115. 00 miles (Bosch) All hoses replaced at 84. 00 miles and 120. 00 miles (Rein)New hood pad (Febi) at 125. 00 miles Battery replaced in 2013 (Duralast Gold top Battery) Rear muffler replaced at 85. 00 miles Brake pads all replaced at 110. 00 miles Kenwood head unit with USB/aux jack Windows tinted in 2013 The Good: The car drives awesome. I’ve driven this car up to Pennsylvania and back several times and it never missed a beat. Oil always changed every 5. 00 miles with Shell Rotella 15w-40 and Mann oil filters. I replaced the head gasket and haven’t had a single issue since then. The AC works great and is running R12. Every window and electrical function works. DEPO Euro headlights installed with HID bulbs. Work GREAT at night and look amazing. Original headlights with wipers included. Rare rear sunshade option from factory. Interior is a solid 8/10. There are some minor cosmetic issues (peeling door cards. etc. ) but all the wood is in great shape and the seats have always been treated with leatherique. Paint is a 9/10 as well. Some minor scratches and blemishes but that is to be expected on a 23 year old car. The Bad: Not really a whole lot actually! Front bumper bottom lip has some damage on it from where the car hit some parking curbs due to bad struts prior to my purchase. Rear bumper impact strip has a minor blemish also from before my ownership. The antenna mast needs to be replaced. but I am working on doing this before the sale of the car. The door cards are peeling slightly at the map pockets. The B pillars are peeling and need to be redone. There is some hazing on the hood. but the rest of the paint is in perfect shape. If necessary I can have the hood painted at buyers expense. The "accident" reported actually happened to a different car. an E320 which is the same chassis as the 300E. I gave them the registration from this car by mistake and thus the accident appeared on this vehicle. I was not able to have this corrected after several months of trying and getting the run around. This car has NEVER been in an accident. and I have photographic proof of the other vehicle the accident did happen to. I will obtain a PPI from Mercedes directly should the interested party request. If there are any questions about this please feel free to contact me. Other than that. the car is in fantastic mechanical and physical shape. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
