Mercedes-Benz 200-Series . Condition is Used. Beautiful 1978 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Inline 6 Cylinder 2.8 liter Original Manual Transmission.I own an automotive repair shop in Dallas TX, this car belongs to a long time elderly customer of mine that is in need of selling his toy.This is a gray market car, meaning that it was shipped by an individual from Germany to the US. We have all the documentation of shipment. The car has been sitting for about a year in his indoor condo parking garage. It does run and drive very well. With that been said there are things that will need to be repaired and very minor body dings. Interior in excellent shape as seen in the pictures. Body is in good shape never in an accident, minor damage to the front hood grill emblem and hood (because of getting too close to the garage wall) Mechanically does run and drives, Transmission and clutch work great, has new brakes front and rear, new muffler, has new front sub-frame mounts, new shocks, and new fan belt. The only good new bad news is that the Air Conditioning system is the original 1978 R12 System, However it leaks. What I would recommend is a new steering column coupling, all new radiator and heater hoses (easy on this car). And a replacing filters fluids and maybe spark plugs. So in like new shape no! but in good mechanical shape yes and with a bit of attention can be brought into great shape.Best part is that it has been a Texas owned and indoor kept vehicle with NO rust. I believe the convertible top to be in good shape also.
