Description of 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

For sale is a 1984 Silver Blue 300 D Turbodiesel in very good, drivable condition. I purchased this car as a pandemic project and have refurbished it to it's present condition. There are a few things that still need to be addressed. There are not many cars that I would invest in to the extent that I have with this one, but being as it was a lower mileage version of this series, it made for an outstanding candidate for what I have done to it so far. There are just a few things that need to be done though I am not able to finish them out at this time. All work had been performed last year prior to the inflation jump in prices and my price is reflective of everything I have invested up till then.
What I have done so far:
New factory silver blue color match paint with two coats of clearcoat on 85% of car.
New brakes - Including calipers, pads, rotors and sensors, all the way around.
New chrome lugs (all the way around)
Wheel bearing - Right front
New Interstate battery with warranty
New belts
New Grille
Engine mount- Left front
New valve cover gasketChange of all filters
Radiator flush
Oil changed
Bottom of engine professionally cleaned
New glow plugs (all)
New fuel sending unit
New turning signal relay
New Kelly tires with 50K mile warranty included
New Kenwood CD deck with Bluetooth and Smartphone capability - w/new Rockford Fosgate dash speakers and new Sony in rear
Nee engine shutoff valve
New driveshaft support
New CV joint (right rear)
.. And probably a few other things that I cannot think of at present.
What needs to be done:
Due to a miscommunication with my paint and body person... the drivers side door has two rust spots that were not included in the job I thought I was paying for. I first thought that I could just have someone else patch, sand and paint them, but I have since considered that just getting a new door from a donor Benz might be another option and have not done anything more to it. I do have the original paint color that was used and there is more than enough left to paint the entire left side of car.
Wood trim four switch panel is warped and needs to be replaced. I am including a replacement.
The windshield has a couple of dings in it, though it really does not affect drivability.
The dash is cracked and I have covered over it with a dash cover.
The glove box is warped and comes open--- have remedied with velcro for now.
There is an occasional leak that collects in the passenger rear side. The carpet is gone, but I have the original MB floormats .
Drivers rear window regulator is not functioning properly.
Squeak in left front suspension. - not sure if it's shock or spring
Center console is slightly warped.
This is a very good car and will go wherever it is you take it. I have done the bulk of refurbishing it to it's current appearance and drivable condition. I am just unable to finish out a few of the details that are left - most of which could be tackled in an afternoon by someone who is familiar with working on these models.
This car has a whole other life ahead of it and will probably outrun some cars not even on the road yet. This particular model is extremely dependable and reliable and can even be run on biodiesel without any modifications or adjustments. The turbo works as it should and definitely helps get this car up and moving. The transmission shifts as it should and there are no detectable leaks. The Sunroof opens and closes just fine.
I am the 5th owner of this car.. I purchased it from a gentleman that lives on base at Fort Knox who's mother also worked for the government there as well. She actually purchased it in Florida from a dealership in Fort Lauderdale. It was believed that it had been shipped over from Germany by a service member back in the 90's. It was then brought to Kentucky where it sat in and out of a warehouse for several years. So the 3rd and 4th owners were within the same family.
Below zero cold starts without any hesitation.
