Description of 1988 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series

This is one of nicest (if not the best) 190e 2.6 in the country. It’s classic Mercedes metallic silver with burgundy MB Tex interior and features the Zebrani wood trim and fine interior features. The car has had 2 owners and the first owner was a school teacher in a rural area in Maryland. This car was always in a heated garage and under a cover and never driven in snow or bad weather. Considering it’s age, there’s no way everything would be as immaculately preserved if it wasn’t kept inside and pampered it’s lifetime.
Mechanically the car runs and drives like a new car. It’s powerful, smooth, shifts well, brakes and handles like a sports sedan and has the precision assembly and quality of a pre 1995 Mercedes. This was basically a handmade car assembled in Stuttgart Germany with much higher quality control standards than now. This is a rust and damage free car with beautiful paint, trim, wheels & tires, chrome, interior and immaculate down to the trunk and the engine compartment. We have never seen a better one nor have we see anything to compare with it on the internet… especially at an affordable price point.
Engine- The car features the Mercedes 2.6 liter straight 6 engine, considered by many experts as one of the finest Mercedes power plants ever made. It’s a fuel injected engine and starts right up without hesitation. There is no oil burning of leakage.
Transmission- 4 speed automatic with a center console shifter-
Suspension & brakes- Independent from and rear suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS-
Tires & Wheels- Mercedes original 15’ alloy painted wheels with recent Michelin tires-
Interior- burgundy MB Tex vinyl seats abc door panels, high quality stock carpets, headliner, excellent dash, wood trim, headliners, instrument panels, trim and etc.
Features- The car was ordered with a Becker am/fm stereo with cassette, front and rear speakers with balance controls (radio works great). It’s got power steering, brakes, tilt wheel, power sunroof (works perfectly) tinted factory glass, power windows, door locks, full sized spare (never used) and standard air bags. This car also has all the way advanced safety features that were the best of its era and still hold up today. A more complete and detailed description can be found easily on line.
This car is located under a car cover at a warehouse near Sharpsburg, Md. (St.James actuality). It is started and driven a few times a week and it’s a total pleasure to drive from every angle. The car had all the factory recommended service done at 100k and receipts are available as well as other spare parts, owners manuals and the original tool kit. This is a complete and incredibly nice original 190e. You won’t likely find a better one anywhere.
The only item that needs to be done is recharging the A/C. It seems to work but not at the proper level of cooling.
Terms- the winning bidder will place a $500 deposit at the conclusion of the auction. This will be refundable if the bidder decides they don’t want the car after inspecting it in person. Final payment is due in cash at the time of delivery.
Shipping- must be arranged & paid for by the new owner. We will be available to assist the shipper with pick up if the new owner cannot be available in person. We will not ship the car out of the country. Payment for non in person delivery will be made in advance of the pick up of the car via certified funds or other pre approved payment methods. No crypto currency, financing or ‘creative’ payments will be accepted.
