Embrace a classic restoration project or an eco-friendly fuel transformation with this iconic 1984 Mercedes 300CD Turbo Diesel Coupe. Crafted for longevity, this model boasts a sturdy 3-liter 5-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine.

History: Driven from Florida to Maine in 2016, it's been a reliable antique auto in southern Maine, not driven in Maine winters. Its engine starts easily and runs well, and has been maintained with synthetic oil since 2009. The odometer reached 179,492 miles when it stopped working. The Experian vehicle history report indicates the vehicle sustained a front-end collision in 1998 before my family owned it, which was a surprise to me because there is no residual damage visible and it steers and tracks well. It has a professionally rebuilt transmission (in 2018 I think it was); the odometer's stuck but there has to be less than a thousand miles on it.

Maintenance & Repairs: Repairs needed include windshield replacement due to a mishap with the hood flying up, hood hinges, and things like side mirror springs, the engine temperature gauge, and other minor repairs. It will need a replacement glow plug relay under the hood but it starts easily with the one it has. Other restoration areas will include painting with minor bodywork, some rust-related floor panel replacement, power window issues, A/C repair, battery, the radio and it's power antenna. The tires have decent tread but the newest one is at least 7 years old and they will all need replacement soon.

Restoration Potential: Though needing TLC, its potential is immense. An investment in restoration could yield a $40,000 to $50,000+ value.

Contact & Inspection: Text at 207-358-9123 for inquiries. Recommend inspection if possible, as I've listed the major known issues, but as a non-professional mechanic, I might have missed something.

Conditions of Sale: As-Is Where-Is, no warranty. Located in East Waterboro, Maine. Buyer arranges shipping, and I will coordinate with you on that if needed. The car will need to be transported safely due to the smashed windshield, as it is illegal and unsafe to drive any car that way. Deposit: $499 via eBay within 24 hrs. The balance, if there is any, can be paid in cash or by bank transfer, cashier's check, or money order within 72 hours. Final transaction to be completed within 7 days unless agreed otherwise in advance of the auction close.
