| Up for sale is an Alberta Blue 1949 Mercury 2 door coupe. This car is recently out of long term storage since 1979. this car is a one owner with 103k original miles. 70% original paint and powered by its original 255 flathead 3 speed non overdrive. 3. 92 gears. which fires up and runs great. A recent tune up including. Battery (exide 6v) Belts. hoses. plugs. wires. points. cap rotor . All new fuel lines. and wheel cylinders. The car starts and runs excellent. brakes and e brake work as they should. The car is a survivor. the interior is nearly all original hold for a few recovered cloth panels and a small hole in the headliner. Many original items long gone on many Mercury's are still on this time capsule. The car has all of the factory date codes and stamps under the hood. all trim moulding and emblems are present. The car has radial tires and original hubcaps. The factory wiring harness is in great shape and all lights and switches work. including clock heat is hot and blower motor worked great with a little grease. The condition of the dash paint and the wiring behind the dash included in pictures is unbelievable and intact. The steering wheel has the famous 'married mans' wear front he original owners wedding band. Stock exhaust. the car does have some rust on the gravel pans. and the repairs in the quarters and rockers some time ago are showing their age. overall however this car is a very solid 100% complete example of a 1949 Mercury coupe. i deal with may Mercurys and this is one of the best original have seen. floor pans and body mounts are solid and dry.
