Description of 1965 Mercury Comet 2 dr |
Offered for auction is very nice example of the 65 Mercury Comet. It has been in caring hands for many years and was shownin the early ISCA show circuit. From people that have contacted me this car was in Detroit area for many years and the owners manual is in a dealer folder from Park Motor Sales on Woodward Avenue in Detroit, ut I cannot prove it was sold there or not.The paint is still outstanding withthat wet look, ice straight panels, withonly minor hard to detect flaws. Stripping was done by well known Hatton. The chrome, tainless and bright work is excellent. The interior is original to the car and is also very nice and shows well. The trunk area is also detailed and has complete original jack with spare. The engine bay of this Comet very detailed and can be easily shown. A nice 289 cu in enginewith a great sounding camshaft, oller rockers, upgraded intake, olley carb, allory ignition and headers with electric cutoutsmove this Caliente right down the road. Behind the 289 is a Hurst shifted 4 speed toploader thathelpsyou relive the old muscle car days. The rear differential is the tough and trusted Ford 9" with 3.90 gears and heavy duty leaf springs. This a hard to find Comet that is rarely seen today. If I can answer any questions feel free to contact me.
