Up for auction is a 1968 Mercury Monterey. It is a 2 doors Fastback. It retains its original 390 2V engine and its C-6 automatic transmission. It is in need of a complete restoration. We have had the engine started, running it off of a can. It did not knock but I would suggest at least an overhaul kit for the motor. I did not engage the transmission as it has no brakes so that condition is unknown. 9 inch rearend and single track rear end.The frame has some rust spots in it that are repairable or could be swapped out. The body is in reasonable shape. Rust as shown in the pictures. The interior is all there, the glass is all good with the exception of the windshield that has a small spot where the rear view mirror was located. Door tag is pictured and I have not decoded it yet. As far as the electrical goes, it started with the key and some of the lights turned on with the switch, and we had a couple of the turn signals working. This is a good candidate for restoration but will need to be complete and thorough. Clear Indiana title. I do have a very solid 4 door version of this car that has an excellent frame, floors, trunk, etc. that could be purchased very reasonably separate from this car and used as a donor. No reserve, car is sold with minimum bid only.Any and all questions can be directed to my email or cell phone call/text at 765-376-3486
