: This is a very rare find with aftermarket performance to boot. This car is a matching numbers original factory 'Home Office Reserve' car, which meant it was built with every available option and sent to the home office in Detroit for advertising, promotional and executive use. They typically only made 3 or 4 cars a year with this designation. These are the vehicles that would be used for advertisements, shown to the public on tour or lent to the major magazines for testing. These 3-4 vehicles would be built in different colors, this one being originally maroon, which means in all likelihood this is the famous 1964 Marauder Fastback Sedan depicted on the Pikes Peak advertisements from 1964. This 'Home Office Reserve' designation is coded in the data plate and unique to this VIN number. This car came from the factory with every available option, power windows, power steering, power seats, cruise control, air conditioning and more. This vehicle still sports its factory original driveline, but has had performance modifications such as an aluminum large tube radiator and 445ci stroker engine rebuild to put out 500hp. The transmission was rebuilt also at the same time. We are told this rebuild was done when the car had an original 80,000 miles on the chassis, which means it has about 9,000 miles on the restoration. This is a great looking and great driving Marauder with room for the entire family. It cruises easily at 70-80mph with its highway geared rear end and 3 speed Merc-o-matic transmission. Of course it has the power windows, which have been rebuilt with new modern motors and mechanisms and it also came with the factory 6 way power seat (currently not working. It powers but does not move). It is a factory air car! ICE COLD! The original A/C compressor stopped working so we have had it upgraded with modern parts. We had new modern condenser, dryer and compressor parts installed from Classic Auto Air (but we did not get new engine bay photos, sorry). It was blowing out at 38 degrees when we tested it in the shop, and the warmest I saw while driving was 48 degrees. The blower and everything still works. This vehicle had the very rare dual fan switch for heat and a/c, nearly impossible to find functional representations today. The most rare option would be the cruise control, utilizing the 'wheel-of-fortune' style thumb-wheel on the dash top and a switch to lock in the speed. This under-hood unit then read the speedometer cables to control the speed. We are missing one cable which prevents this feature from functioning, but we are told this cable can be built special order and we are working on getting it. The paint is hotrod Satin Black and the body alignment is very good. The hood, trunk and doors open and close beautifully. There are a few misc nicks and scrapes, this car was driven frequently and enjoyed. There is slight paint lifting starting to happen on the small resin trim pieces. No evidence of filler repairs or poor body work, very solid and clean. The car was obviously built with performance in mind, as the engine bay was not restored to show quality condition. It performs its intended job well, it runs amazing. Incredibly low, loping rumble at idle with an unmistakable shake that lets you know something is going on under the hood, morphing into a nascar-esque scream when you get on the gas. It sounds as mean as it looks and will likely send the other vehicles in your garage scattering for safety. When I drove it I was certainly impressed by the acoustics and powerful feel, but thanks to the rear end gearing and the wide ratio transmission the acceleration is tame and easily controllable, no fear of it getting out of hand. This is also aided by the 275/55/17 rear tire footprint which keeps you planted and stable. It felt best when getting on the open road and letting it run up to 80mph in effortless fashion. The engine and transmission rebuilds alone totaled more than $15,000. The previous owner spent over $40,000 rebuilding this car from its previouslyderelictstate, and thats what it would cost you to duplicate, except that you'll very likely never see another Home Office Reserve car with factory A/C and cruise control to start with.
The interior is in amazing condition, hardly used since rebuilt. The seats appear near mint and very comfortable, remade in original patterns with houndstooth and leather just like the original. The lights all work including the fender mounted turn signal indicators for the driver. The weatherstripping is in decent original condition with some cracking and age, but is the same as a 4 door galaxie so can be replaced. The car runs and drives amazing. I have driven it alot for testing and pleasure and it is alot of fun and gets alot of attention. The car has no mechanical problems that we can find. We are confident that you could drive this car anywhere.

You can be sure that every vehicle we offer has received a 100 point inspection and is fully road tested by experienced technicians.
