Description of 1972 Mercury Cougar

This is a very clean 4 owner 72 mercury cougar. The previous owner had it for 31 years and always kept it stored in his garagre. The car has the original 351 2V that was rebuilt with a mild cam. edlbrock 4 barrell intake and carb. Ignition was converted over to electronic and the car has dual exhaust. Motor has about 25000 miles on it. Car only has one repaint in a brownish gold paint. Car was originally gold. The only rust I found on the car was some pitting in the trunk which i coated with por 15. Car has the original color interior which is in good shape. The vinyl top was replaced once with the original sadel color top (only 1738 made with this top)Trans is an FMX which shifts good (the previous owner had some work done to it. but did not remember what it was) Car is an A/C car and all the equipment is there. the compresser kicks on but does not blow very cold. The previous owner sold the car because he could no longer drive. Since I have had the car I replaced the fuel system(new tank. rubber fuel lines. fuel pump and installed an 600 cfm edelbrock carb) Flushed the coolant system and replaced the upper/lower radiator hoses. Installed new tires (225/60/14) and added flow masters. Car runs and drives nice. Car looks better in person than the pictures show. Car is an original blue plate california car and comes with personel plate. Car also comes with all maint. records from 85-present. all registrations from 85-present. a marti report and extra parts.
