1978 Mercury Grand Marquis. This Vehicle was purchased by the original and still the current owner for his 30th birthday. It has never been driven in rain, winter weather or snow. It was his pride and joy. He had another Mercury he drove on a daily basis. It has never been smoked in. No pets or children. None of the three ash trays or lighters have ever been used. The owner (Roger) is still living. He is in a Care Facility no longer able to care for himself. It has a small dent in the center of the trunk lid (pictured) where it backed into his Work Bench. To look at and drive this Beautiful Automobile, you would think you were driving a one year old car. The 37K miles are original. He always had it serviced at a Small Town Shop where they had gatherings and were all friends. All the options are original, all work and all 100% stock down to the power antenna. There are some of the original delivery paperwork in Roger's name as well as the vehicle's title. It can be driven anywhere without a second thought. Not even the slightest rattle. It doesn't need anything. It stays parked in a climate controlled environment with a fitted cover on it.The new owner is going to get tremendous pleasure enjoying this fine automobile. Full payment is required within 48 hours of the auction end. Please bid only with the intent to own this vehicle. If you are new to eBay, please contact me prior to placing a bid. I will be happy to co-operate with your shipper.Update 03/12/2020 Yesterday evening I was contacted by an interested party. I was asked if there were any paperwork with the miles listed under 40,000. The communication questions are in a reverse sequence as the questions were asked and the answers followed Here are my findings: New message to: mercuryv8Today I went to the Repair Shop that I had mentioned. It turned out to be a very cool adventure. I was able to get the repair records dating back to 2006. Prior to that they were hand written. Roger (the owner of the car) is and has always been slow. Similar to the character portrayed in the film Of Mice and Men. He was and is a large man, around 400 pounds. Roger was teased and bullied all of his life. The only reason he purchased the Grand Marquis was due to the fact a "pretty girl" told him he should buy it. In looking at the service records I obtained, the car was driven 300 to 500 miles in the last 14 years. A good part of the records are for New Batteries,Fuel Pumps, Tires etc as it sat most of it's life. I also learned he had a 1965 Olds Cutlass 442 that was sold in recent years with a whopping 17,000 miles on it. He had work done to The Marquis after he was told it didn't need. He insisted anyway. It is the 6.6L 400 CI vin code 6 engine. mercuryv8Thank you for replying. Let me think about it a couple of days. It does have a 460 right? Thank you sirmandyleahdiversified:I just reached the shop that has serviced it all these. It happens to be the oldest service garage in this town. The same family has owned since it was built. He will be happy to print the history which will also prove the miles as being actual. I would want to know how serious you are in buying the vehicle as it is a 140 mile round trip for me. I'm an old guy and not in the best of shape. So it's a haul. you can reach me @ 612-991-0747 if you choose.mercuryv8The 1978 Mercury, dark blue.
