Description of 1978 MG MGB

Up for consideration is a very nicely restored 1978 MGB Roadster. This MGB was purchased by me a while ago as part of my collection. This is an excellent, ust free, rizona car with very low miles at 76,000. I have a clear open Arizona Title. This MGB was restored about 10 years ago and still shows very well, his was a bare metal paint job in its original Russet Brown color (1978-79 only color) with absolutely no rust repairs made. The interior was also done at the time with a complete MOSS motors interior kit in its original Autumn brown color. Both exterior and interior show very well with little wear. Don't get me wrong, f you are looking for a concourse car, his car is not for you. If you are looking for a car that you can drive, njoy, nd take to any local car show and feel proud, his may be the car for you. There some minor dings and blemishes in the paint and interior as expected. Paint was done in base coat, lear coat and looks great even up close. One blemish between passenger mirror and window seal about 1/2" rust/tear which is very common with MGB's (can send pic). Engine bay still retains its original pint in good condition. The interior shows very well, o rips or tears, arpet looks new, oco mats. Dash is in excellent condition with no tears or repair caps added. All gauges function correctly. Car has an aftermarket radio, roperly installed. Convertible top looks Ok but not as nice as the rest of the car (one minor tear pass side, ear side window, asy fix). The Engine and Overdrive Transmission have been completely rebuilt sometime before I purchased the car. I do not have receipts for the work but have no reason to think differently. The Oil pressure is 75 psi cold and 65 psi warm, o signs of smoke even when choked. Carburetor was converted to manual choke for better performance. I purchased this car because I thought it was absolutely stunning and thinking about a Rover V8 conversion. This car needed absolutely noting to just climb in and enjoy. The previous owner installed front and rear SPAX Krypton Gas Shock kits ($2400 receipt). The following upgrades we done in the last 6 months. 4 new Goodyear 185/15 radials with 15" Silverstone II Aluminum wheels. Also added the chrome 2 ear knock-offs with screwed in Porcelin center badges, his tire and wheel package was about $1600. Also installed a leather Moto-Lota steering wheel with hub and MG horn button (purchased from Moto-lita.com in europe @ $550) . Also remover both front and rear bumpers and had them professionally restored at a body shop ($600). Installed new exterior oil cooler ($250). Car has LE front spoiler and looks good. Restored and installed license plate bracket with new chrome lights and hardware. New Lucas front parking light assemblies, ew Lucas rear tail light and reverse light lenses. Looking through the receipts of the previous owner, t looks like the two electric fans were just replaced, ew temp sending unit, ew water pump installed and the radiator flushed. I have driven this car about 200 miles with a borrowed dealer plate. Car runs and performs excellent and has more leg room than than my other Triumphs. I tried to be as accurate as I could in words, ou are welcome to come to my home for inspection of the car. I do have a lift in my garage to inspect all of the car, ncluding the undercarriage. The undercarriage of this car is one of the nicest that I have seen in my 30 years of playing with these British cars. Absolutely no corrosion or even surface rust. There is dealer installed rustproofing which can be easily removed to show the Russet brown painted bottom. There are no stated or implied warranties. Please ask questions by email or call direct @ Dalmat22@nycap.rr.com, 18-438-5201.I will coordinate with your own transport company if needed. I have 100% positive feedback. There are local Triumph Clubs which could inspect this car for you if you cannot. I am only selling this car because I do not have the room to store it. I have recently purchased a early TR3 which will require a lot of room for the restoration work. I am willing to entertain offers on the car. This is an auction so I will not disclose my reserve. I will say that my reserve is mush less that I have invested in the car.
