Becoming a very rare collectible model with values on the rise. The MG Midget has been a favorite for British car enthusiasts for many years. Noted for their simplicity and reliability at an affordable price. This particular MG is quite rare since it is a first year production of this classic MG. Survivor example that can be driven as is or restore to it's former glory. Looking for a good home for this great British Classic. Transmission: 4 Speed (non syncro 1st gear) Color: Red with Black interior Mileage: 89,737 Title: Clear "Ohio" Title (Titled as 1963) **I will be adding more pictures within the next few days.** The MG had been Grandpa's weekend cruiser for many years. Used only on nice days, it was used around town to do errands and local cruising. Needless to say, the MG has spent most of it's time in the garage with very little use over the years. It's always been ultra reliable and starts with the pull of the choke and the starter! Mechanically the MG is in good solid condition. It starts easily with the pull of the choke. I have a receipt from 1979 that indicates the engine was rebuilt at Fischer Brothers Foreign Cars in Ohio which specialized in British cars. The mileage indicated is 88,244. Needless to say very few miles were put on since that time. As noted, the MG had been used around town at lower speeds, not something that you would drive on the freeway. The 948 cc engine sounds fine and does not smoke, but does leak like most British cars...Brakes work with no issues. Throttle cable can be sticky and could benefit from a new cable. Hydraulics are fine with a newer master cylinder. No issues with the charging system/battery. Has been converted to negative ground. Tires are virtually brand new with almost no miles driven on them. Body: The exterior looks clean and always was an eye catcher around town. It has been preserved as opposed to being restored. There is evidence of old repairs on the body that includes bondo on the body and patches on the floors and rear valence. The underside had been undercoated over the years to protect it from the perils of rust. As noted in the pictures, there is rust on the floors, rockers and other misc areas. Panel fit is excellent including doors hood and trunk lid. Both bumpers are in good condition as well as the grill. There is no evidence of a color change despite the black engine compartment. Has new correct convertible top however it does not fit correctly and will need to be stretched in the warm weather. Also includes the original sliding side curtains. The interior is in good condition as shown in the pictures. A new carpet kit with insulation was recently installed along with new door panels. There is extra red vinyl to cover the dashboard. Original steering wheel is cracked. Correct seats are in good condition with no tears or rips. ONCE AGAIN....NO RESERVE AUCTION! **Please have your finds in order prior to bidding. **For the motivated buyer I will consider ending the auction early for a serious offer, however I do not have a "Buy It Now" price set. The fine print: If you have 5 or less feedback transactions, you must contact me prior to bidding. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hours of the auction end. If the deposit is not received, the "MG" will be offered to the next highest bidder. The balance is due within 7 days of the auction end date. The car must be picked up within 10 days of the auction end date. A $10.00 per day storage fee will be charged after the 10 days unless prior arrangements have been made. For International Buyers, I have sold several vintage cars to overseas buyers with the buyers being extremely pleased with the sale. "Rear License Plate" not included. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. |
