Description of 1952 MG T-Series New Chrome |
This car is a 1952 MGTD Roadster, made in England and brought to the states sometime before 1965. I have owned it since then and over the last few years I have completed an extensive restoration. The engine is only a four cylinder with 1250 cc and it runs quick. In order to keep up with traffic on the Interstate, I replaced the 4 speed with a rebuilt 5 speed. It is time for someone else to have this fun machine. I purchased this 1952 MGTD in 1965, in Charleston, SC. I drove it daily & I took it with me to several duty stations. I retired in Charleston 1985. I completely disassembled the TD over the course of the next few years. I replaced most of the wooden frame and had the various body pieces primed and repainted. The engine and transmission had been removed and stored in my garage. I purchased many new chrome pieces and rebuilt the seats and the rest of the interior. I installed a custom top and side curtains and put on 4 new tires. In the fall of 2010 my daughter wanted to drive away from a special event in this car I had the car sent to Charleston Import Automotive where they rebuilt the engine and running gear to include the brakes. the wiring harness and most electrical parts including the fuel pump were replaced. My daughter was able to drive away in December 2010. It has been garage kept since then and driven regularily. |
