Description of 1979 MG MGB |
Very clean 1979 MGB with only 42xxx miles on it. There is no rust on this car, having spent most of it's life down in Florida where it was pampered and enjoyed by it's elderly owner who took it to car shows and really took pride in the car. The paint is nice, but not perfect I would say an 8 out of 10. The body has no rust and little to no damage. One small dent in the front of the bonnet (see photos). The overdrive 4 speed works as it should making highway driving much more possible and relaxing. The engine is very strong, no smoke and has excellent oil pressure even at idle when warm (see photo). Everything works electrically and mechanically, it is ready to enjoy by it's new owner. Recent service including brand new tires, check up and tuning. The interior is in fine shape, the seats and panels are the original Champagne color. The carpets are bit tired and have some staining in the rear area (see photo), but still presentable at this point. No cracks in the dash. All the gauges work as they should, as do the lights, horn, wipers. Ready for the road! The car has the original Zenith Stromberg carburetor with an added manual choke, which works surprisingly well based on their reputation! The car runs very nicely, smooth and tight. The convertible top fits nicely but does have some rips and repairs in it (see photo). Included with the car are it's original full length tonneau cover along with its top boot cover. Original jack and lug wrench still it the original plastic bag. Also included are some service receipts dating back to the late 1980's. I am selling this car for the current owner, the son of the previously mentioned elderly owner. I operate an MG repair shop and occasionally will sell a car for a customer when I know the car is a good one and this is a good one! Runs as good as any rubber bumper MGB I have ever driven. Needs nothing, get in and drive! Included are service records for the car dating back to the late 1980's. If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask, and an in person inspection is more than welcome. Very reasonable reserve has been set, so bid with confidence that you will get a very nice, honest MGB at a fair price. |
