Description of 1962 Mini Classic Mini S Trim

Freshly refurbished MK1 Mini with a clear California title as a 1962 Austin. Registered with authentic Yellow/Black YOM plates. DMV paperwork has welded FE number listed in place of British VIN which is missing.

Originally Almond Green, the car was painted metallic blue before being completely stripped and resprayed in 2016 to the current Tweed under white top. All fittings, trim, glass, ETC. were removed inside and out, and rust in the lower door skins was repaired with butt-welded 4” strips. No other body rust was found.

The car was then reassembled with all new door and window rubber, including the handles, hinges, door channels, boot seal, headlamps, turn signals, windscreen, rear, and side windows.

Inside, a new sound damping carpet kit was installed in black, along with additional sound damping in the doors. New headliner, dome light, rear-view mirror, oval binnacle speedo, black padded dash liner window catches, gear knob, interior door paddles, door straps, pocket trim and more.

Outside, the car is riding on UK Minilight wheels with older Yokohama 008 tires. This Mini is also fitted with original chrome “S” trim around the windows, and original 6-piece rigid molding around the fender wheels and rockers. The glass is original, and windscreen is date stamped 1967. Boot latch is stamped 1966. Finish work includes new over-riders, grill, grill buttons, mustache, bonnet strap, license plate hinges and light, headlamp grills, new taillights and turn indicators, locking aluminum fuel caps, badging, vinyl bonnet stripes, black vinyl checkerboard, and various other bits, pieces, and paper-cuts.

The car is powered by a strong 1275 CC Gold Seal (LBB10476100262), and has been modified with a late rod change shifter. All electrical has been gone through meticulously, and everything works (lights, signals, horn, speedo jewels, dome, etc.) Drum brakes.

The titled owner is selling this car, and comes with a stack of receipts documenting the restoration. Please feel free to ask any questions.
