Description of 1939 Oldsmobile Other

Bombshelter Customs Brings YouA 1939 Oldsmobile70 SeriesThis car was started as a project back in 2008 for a total restoration then put in storage in 2010 and has since been waiting for completion many parts have been redone with show quality chrome and the whole drive system has been totally gone through with mild modifications but has kept an original look car has lots of extra accessories and has been built with lots of detail in mind and lots of time and money spent. This car was originally being built to originality but with drive-ability in mind along with upgrades done to make this car more reliable. such as a 12 volt conversion and a more modern rear axle. This Oldsmobile was being built to compete in any major LOWRIDER car show. RESERVE PRICE!!!I am currently putting a rediculous reserve on this car I am taking offers so don't be shy. I am not an asshole when it comes to negotiating a price but don't expect to get the car for free. Me and my brother have put alot of heart into this build which costed lost of money. and I know that we will never get all our money and labor back. So feel free to talk to me I'm in no rush to sell and if I don't sell I just might keep it as a family and wedding car for another 20 yearsEngine :This car has an original 230 straight six Flathead with about 30. 00 Miles on it the color is Detroit Diesel Alpine Green wired with original style cloth wire with a few touches of chrome. The distributor has a Pertronix electronic ignition replacing the points and a 12 Volt chrome one wire alternator much time was spent collecting NOS parts ( New Old Stock). This includes the original thermostat. water pump and Carter carburetor. The exhaust manifold has been split to run dual exhaust. Both intake and exhaust manifolds have been powder coated and NOS gaskets installed. Original fuel pump has been removed and blocking plate installed in its place. The carburetor is fueled by a 12 volt electronic pump bolted to the frame. Exhaust:The original manifold has been split to run a complete dual exhaust system with a 1 3/4 inch pipe all new straight pipe with no mufflers or glass pack to give it that poppy sound like a Chevy 6 cylinder. Transmission:Car has an original 3 speed manual transmission purchased here on ebay. The insides are in excelent condition for its age minimal signs of wear. shifts through all gears easily and smoothly. Keep oil in it and it will run forever. Rear Axle:This car is pushed by a 1979 Buick 10 bolt rear end that has been totally rebuilt and modified to fit the original drums and suspension from the 39. This part was very important because of the effect it has had on its drive-ability. nbsp;second gear could only drive at top speed of 15 mph and now handles 45 mph no problem. I've not had the chance to drive the car on the freeway because this car is currently not street legal but I can imagine it can handle speeds of up to 80 no problemFuel/Brakes:All fuel and brake lines have been replaced along with any major rubber lines. bakes system totally rebuilt fuel tank cleaned and coated in and out. new original style glass bowl fuel filter new electronic fuel pump new metal lines with new fittings. Suspension:The whole front suspension has been totally gone trough from bare frame and had done the lower A-arms in chrome. sits on a coil springs all around just as original from factory with the springs cut to lower the car a bit NO HYDRAULICS OR AIR BAGS have ever been added but we can add either of those options if buyer pleases to do so. Rust:This car was a very clean very straight body from California but naturally all of these 30s cars had a chain box in the rear under trunk lid that is always rusted gone this one was replaced with new sheet metal and the trunk lid also had major rust so it was replaced. floors had very minor rust and were previously patched with fiberglass and now have been repaired with new sheet metal so it is now rust free and very solid. Body: This Olds had a very straight body with very minor dents never had a major wreck. We had totally stripped the car down to bare metal sealed and primed the whole car with the best primer available at the paint shop and very little bondo was used on the car. Trunk lid is still in need of body work. skirts are an original aftermarket flat teardrop style in need of body work. and the car also comes with an original Peckat Visor that needs to be prepped for paint but is in excellent condition. Chrome:All chrome work was done at AAA plating in Sacramento. A they pump out some of the best work in town and most of the major parts were done there such as bumpers and gaurds to dash components and the complete hood hinge assembly which costed 600 dollars alone. Front lower A-arms are also chromed. and all stainless trim repaired and polished. Some small items are missing such as side trim or trunk handle etcWheels:Car rides on a set of 1934/1935 Oldsmobile 16 inch artillery rims wrapped in a set of bias ply 7. 50 Firestone white wall classics. Accessories:This car comes with NOS bug screen for grille. snow cover for grille. passing lamp. Thermador swamp cooler. dessert water bag. original front center and side bumper gaurds. original rear bumper gaurds with center fold down. a set of flat skirts that have a lip along the bottom that are a teardrop style but these are not a new re-pop set. and an original 1930s Peckat VisorInterior:Car needs the original front seat currently has a 1935 olds seat and rear seat back rest and rear arm rest. Has all garnish moldings and a complete dash missing a door handle. door lock cylinder. light switch. windshield center strip. doors are complete as far as all door mechanisms and I do have all glass except the rear glass but all glass is flat and can be easily cut by a professional glass cutter. I am currently working a deal to get all new glass cut for this car by a local professional with 10 years of experience.
