Description of 1939 Oldsmobile Other |
I will try to describe this car the best I can, if you have any questions you can call me or email me and I will get you the answer. I have owned this car for 2 years, I purchased it from a local person who started the project 26 years ago, but never finished car. He chopped the top 4”, put a 350 engine that had he built, has a great rumble, not sure what cam was installed, and automatic transmission in the car, and added the aluminum radiator. He had it to the point that it would start and drive, but never registered the car. Since purchasing I have installed a new harness and completed all the electrical, a description of those items is below. The front headlights also have parking lights and turn signals built into them, look fantastic. The car does have coil springs in the front and rear. The front clip is from a 69 Nova, and I believe the rear is from the same vehicle. The GM steering column may also have come from that car, the ignition switch on the column works as well as the emergency flasher and signals. I installed the interior as the car had the original seats, but they were in bad shape. The grill I found about a year ago, this is an old cast aluminum grill that looks great, the originals grills crack easily and are very hard to find also, this grill makes the nose of the car look great. There is no headliner in the car, but the bows and mounts are in the car. The paint is real nice, but not a 10K paint job. I noticed a few drips in the clear that can be worked out of it. The wire wheels have a small amount of surface rust that you need to up close to see. Overall a nice car that will get you noticed while you are cruising. 1939 Oldsmobile Sedan, chopped 4” suicide rear doors 1969 Nova front clip/suspension, and 69 Nova rear 2 tone paint, 2 stage paint Power Steering Power Brakes Aluminum radiator Separate transmission cooler 350 Engine Hooker Headers with dual exhaust Holley manifold, and 650 Holley carb Power windows front doors Shaved door handles, front door poppers Leather power seats from a 2003 Lexus, lap belts Pioneer stereo/CD with 4 speakers Dolphin gauges; all working · Fuel gauge works · Oil pressure works · Voltage gauge works · Coolant temperature works · Speedometer works Rodtique headlights have turn and parking lights built in 1980’s GM steering column, turn signals and emergency flasher work Wipers are Newport Engineering 2 speed with park electric, wiper arms are billet with 7” blades New wire harness/fuse panel, extra circuits for add ons 4” peep mirrors on the doors and dash mount rear view mirror Spoke rims Cast aluminum grill, these are no longer made Car still needs a headliner, and no heat/air.
