1983 Hurst Oldsmobile in Original condition. I purchased this car from a classic car dealership in 2011 with 26,194 original miles. A 69 year old man who was the original owner sold this vehicle to the dealership. I had contacted him before I purchased this car to find out its history, verify the mileage, and make sure the dealership was being honest, and they were 100%. The odometer now reads 26,412 miles. That's No mistake, I only drove it 218 miles in approximately 6 years. I changed the oil, transmission fluid, and did a tune up the first week I got it. I also had a new set of raised white letter tires installed. In addition, Ionly use high test gas and changed the oil and filterannually.I went to a few car shows, drove it in a couple of parades and to and from the gas station.Growing up this was my dream car and I finally was able to afford to buy one in 2011. Unfortunately, family, work and other responsibilities never really allowed me to enjoy it like it was meant to be.Basically it was a garage trophy for the time I owned it. I would start it up once or twice a month and drive it around the block. This car has the 307ci High Output 8 cylinder motor. The tireshaveapproximately 200miles actual drive time.As can be seen in the photos, the interior is extremely nice and shows a little wear considering the vintage of this car. There are no tears or rips in the fabric or cloth. The dash is super with no cracks or other obnoxious flaws. The carpet is also super nice with original carpeted floor mats. The T-top bag is included and in very good shape. Also, a custom Cover Craft Noah car cover is included. Being 34 years old, this car has a few issues I will detail below. The air conditioning mysteriously stopped working this summer, it blows warm, the dash cluster clear plastic has surface scratches, and many of the dash meter/gauge lamps are dim or out and need replacement, the tachometer reads high but that is a known easily repaired ground wire issue that effects most of these cars, warm up is sometimes erratic and the car stalls and has to be restarted, once the car is warm there is no problem, that's about all the flaws I know of. I never used the cassette or cruise controlso that is an unknown. The engine runs strong and transmission shifts, I have only used the lightning rods two or three times to verify they work and they do.Brakes are not as responsive as they should be and need to be checked. The only part of this car I replaced are the rear shock absorbers. The original air shocks were leaking and I couldn't locate new Oem's so I had Bilsteins installed. The shocks are the Only repair work other then usual maintenance that I have ever had done to this car.Cosmetically there are some age and use related imperfections. There are a few small dings, some edge wear on the sharp edges(door edges, etc.), there is also an ever so slight barely visible fade line mid-line on each side of the car where the original dealership installed stick on protective side moulding when new, I had removed the moulding but never tried to compound or aggressively clean the paint, the weather stripping is drying out and starting crumble in a few places around the t-roof.I have never removed the T-tops, not even once so I am not sure about the seals. There are no water leaks in the car. The stickers / decals are in nice condition. There is some peeling/paint loss around the narrow edge of the front wheel openings. There are some small nicks, scratches, markshere and there. The front grill has quite a few nicks and chips from highway driving. As far as I know this is an original example. From what I was told, the first owner had a few areas such as top surfaces repainted do to unprovoked spider cracks in the paint, Original window sticker and bill of sale included. Please don't expect a concoursrestored car or one that is showroom fresh. What I can state is that this Hurst Olds isa Very Nice Original vehicle that is34 years old. Although it has super low mileage it's still used. Definitely a head turner in all respects. Virtually everything about this vehicle is unique, the paint job, the stickers, the lightening rod shifters, the badging, even the name! Even when I take this car for the usual warm up drive a couple of times a month people stop and stare and complement me on the style and condition.
