Description of 1972 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Delta 88 Royale

.

Up forauction is a beautiful 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Convertible in triple white. This car was used on several occasions as a "Miss America" parade car to bringbeauty contestants, like Phyllis George (Miss America '71), down the Atlantic City Boardwalkto the Convention Center for the Miss America Pageant hosted by Bert Parks.I boughtit from the grandson of the original owner;whowas gracious enough to let the pageant use it.Thepageant wanted a triple white convertibleto lead the parade bybringing (3) beauty queens (1 in the front seat and 2 in the back seat) to the pageant and have thempass outsouvenirsand candy along the waywhile waving to thecheeringcrowds who lined thefamous Boardwalk. At the time of sale, I was given and still have documentation (see photos) showing that it was in fact a "Miss America" car. This car is in excellent condition, everything works as it should, and always garaged since new. It has the dependable Rocket 350 engine (4 barrel carb.) showing only 88k original mileswith the following options: Power Windows, Power Seats, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Power Trunk Release, Cold AC (rare option), Power Top,Dual Exhaust and AM/FM stereo radio. Since owning the car, I have installed the following:

-New factory GM radiator.
-All new brakes both front and rear with new brake hoses, clips etc.
-New GM shocks.
-Pertronix HEI distributor with matching Igniter Coil.
-New stainless steel transmission lines.
-Rebuilt carburetor (the original Rochester Carb. is still on the engine).
-New Delco alternator.
-New custom wheels and tires (I still have the original hub caps).
-New Flowmaster exhaust (front to rear, with stainless exhaust tips).
-All new Soff Seal weatherstriping (doors, trunk, top,etc.).
-New stereo radio speakers (it has the original AM/FM stereo radio that works great).
-New custom matchingparade boot (see photo).
-New convertible top drive cables.
-Original floor mats and trunk mat (still in great condition).
-New valve cover gaskets.
-Recent major tune-up (wires, cap, rotor, plugs, belts, hoses, thermostat, anti-freeze etc.)
This car isdependable with no squeaks, rattles or weird noises of any kind.
A consistent trophy winner at car shows. It's a car you will be proud toown, drive, turn headsandmake conversation. If you buy a convertible, make sure it has a power top and power windowsfor thoseunexpected times when rainwas notin the forecast.
