Description of 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass

1976 Olds Cutlass with 350 V-8 (completely rebuilt 3 years ago).Automatic transmission (rebuilt 3 years ago).Swivel bucket seats in like new condition.Carpet and floor mats replaced 3 years ago.Excellent headliner.Rear deck untouched (no speaker holes cut).Paint is older than 3 years but is in way above average condition. Still shines and is very reflective like a mirror.Excellent tires (Replaced 3 years ago - maybe 2000 miles on them).Car has been stored indoors in my shop.Ice Cold A/C.Good glassStraight body.Everything works (oil pressure gauge occasionally spins in circles). Car runs beautiful. This is a gauge problem only.Complete restoration 3 years ago. Per previous owner just about everything was replaced - needed or not.Items easily accessible to see that have been replaced are carburetor, manifold, distributor, exhausts, rebuilt motor (pictures from previous owner), and much more. This car runs and drives excellent. I keep Hagerty Classic Car Insurance on it and can not use it as a daily driver but car gets started weekly and driven at least monthly up to car wash and usually lunch with my wife. This car not given any problems. The longest trip it has been on was I drove it to Oklahoma and spent a few days there showing it off at a “car show” they were having.
This car turns heads everywhere it goes and everyone loves it.
My description of the car may seem critical but please understand the buyer will likely be buying this car “sight unseen” and is relying on me to be their eyes and ears to tell them everything that’s wrong with this car.
There is a small dent in the back bumper (barely noticeable). Small scratch (approx 1/4”) on drivers side of back bumper. A few small stress cracks in paint on front clip but not peeling, just cracks. A few rock chips in paint on the front grill. The front grill is black and chrome. The black is recessed to accentuate the chrome. The chips in paint are in the black and are hardly noticeable. There are a few extremely light scratches on the car where one of my chickens ran in my shop and jumped on the car. I rubbed several of them with my fingers and they disappeared. I would say there is a 99% chance that all of them (even though there are very few) would buff right out.The radio plays but it’s the original GM stereo and only the right side speakers play. No modifications have been done to the sound system. No speaker holes cut, no aftermarket radios installed, etc. It looks the way it did when it was built.
The glass is all in excellent condition. The vinyl top is just a few years old and is in perfect condition.
The usual trouble spots on these cars is around the vinyl top, the bottom of the doors, and on the fenders by the tires. All of these trouble spots are in excellent condition with no signs of rust or bubbling.
The car rides well and doesn’t rattle when driving down the road. It handles exactly as it should...very smooth. Brakes stop quietly and without issue. Acceleration is quick and without hesitation (keep in mind this car probably weighs around 5500 pounds and the motor was not rebuilt to be a “hot rod” so if you are expecting a race car you will need to look elsewhere because this car was not designed for that purpose).
Headers were installed per previous owner with dual exhausts. They are just loud enough to sound good but only provide a quiet rumble. He chose perfectly.
The carpet was replaced and as an added touch he even bought new Oldsmobile floor mats (tags are still in place - see pics).
There is a piece of trim that is damaged on the drivers door. This piece sells here on eBay but I have not replaced it. It shows in two of the pics. One is with the piece on and you can see a small damaged spot on top. The second pic is where I removed it so you can see the damage. The piece slides back on. It will usually fall off after I shut the door 6-8 times and I just slide it back on.
I tried to take pictures of all the paint imperfections but they really are very, very small and it difficult to get them to show up on camera.
I do not believe you will be disappointed in the way this car looks inside, outside, or underneath. I also do not believe you will be disappointed with the way this car runs and drives.
The car came with lots of extra parts when I bought it and I will pass them on to you. The original quadrajet carburetor, the original manifold, miscellaneous pieces of trim, another set of wheels, etc. If you want them just say so and I’ll load them gently into the car. You will have to notify the car carrier of the extra items.
If you have any questions please feel free to text me at 817-456-2289 and I will answer to the best of my ability.
I will be more than happy to take additional pictures, send video of the car running, etc. I will also allow a mechanic of your choice (should you choose to call someone to come look at it) access to the car to look it over to verify everything I have told you here in this listing.
It really is a beautiful car and I honestly believe you’ll love it as much as I do.
We purchased a new home in the country that does not have a garage or even a carport. The road itself isn’t very good and I would not drive this car down such a road just to park it out in the elements. This car has always been protected and it needs to be preserved. I’d rather sell it before we move than watch it deteriorate sitting in the driveway of our new house.
I hope I have addressed all your questions and concerns here but if not feel free to text. You may call as well but you must text first because I do not answer calls from people I do not know.
Thanks for looking and good luck on the auction.
