1961 Studebaker Lark Regal VIII Convertible Coupe V8 Automatic Transmission Mid 1980's Restoration. Re-Built Engine. Runs Great! Driven frequently. The Good: Full restoration in the mid 1980's. Studebaker V8 4.7L 289 C.I. motor re-built less than 625+/- miles on the re-build. Runs, hifts and stops perfectly. No rust outs. Car is solid. Interior leather is excellent, o rips or tears. Tires Good. 4-American Racing Mag wheels. Premium Alpine sound system. New gauges. It can be and has been used as a 'daily' driver as it sits. It was re-painted Dupont Imron Pearl White in the early 1980's. The paint is high gloss and is in fine shiny condition with no cracking, very minor paint chips here and there). Underside is perfect no rust, t was professionally under-coated when the car was restored. The car looks really nice. Car originally came from Oregon. It has been in CT. with the same owner for over 20 years. There are car show awards in the engine compartment from OR. in the mid 1980's. headlights, aillights, rake lights, urn signals and wipers all work. Chrome is clean and shiny. All glass clean and intact. Holds the road perfectly at highway speeds. The Bad: It's missing the steering wheel center emblem and one side emblem. One of the latches for the convertible roof lock is broken. Tail lights are broken, but it comes with a new set of tail lights to install). Front plastic turn signal covers have small cracks. 1" tear in the right side of the rag top, ome other minor wear spots to the rag top are evident along the locked down front lock down area, verall the top is very good. Cardboard liner for inside glove compartment is not there. Drivers door latch mechanism is missing a bolt, oor shuts, ut not as tightly as it should. The Ugly: Paint has peeled away from top of drivers door, bout 1"x4", ee extreme close up photo. Small bubbles in paint lower passenger door, bout the size of your fist, ee extreme close up photo. Small soft dent about the size of the boot tip were someone kicked it, ower left rear quarter panel, o paint damage, an likely be popped out. The Rest Of The Story: No Title. Connecticut does not Title vehicles this old. It comes with a bill of sale and copy of current registration. The other States know this and it is a non issue. It is driven regularly. The rag top is electric, t works and has the boot. It did have factory AC, ut the unit was bad, new one is included along with 25+ years of extra parts that will fit in the trunk. It's top speed is way too fast for it's own good, bbl. carb & dual exhaust. Tranny was redone in the mid 90's. The motor was done in 2007 and has about 500 +/- miles on it since.
