Description of 1927 Other Makes PRE WAR 1927 BUICK RACER/SPEEDSTER |
I N T E R N A T I O N A L B U Y E R S W E L C O M E M O S T L Y O R I G I N A LP R E W A R B I G B O D I E D 1 9 2 7 B U I C K R A C E R / S P E E D S T E R ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING SIX CYLINDER INLINE MOTOR & TRANSMISSION(PALLETIZED) I am very excited to offer to the international eBay community a very, ery rare opportunity to acquire an iconic, ig bodied pre war 1927 Buick Racer/Speedster that has been part of a reclusive millionaire's car collection for many decades and was sold by executors of his estate within the last two years and is fresh to the market. The fine American Buick Racer is NOT a clone or "tribute" car having undergone some recent conversion from a big body sedan to Racer/Speedster. Early American Race Cars have become so rare, esirable and valuable that even recent sedan to speedster conversions commonly bring upwards $35,000 in today's hot pre war collector car market. The steelspeedsterpanels on this Racer are original and at least 80 years old and the paint looks to be original to the build, hich in high probability suggests that this vehicle may have at least some regional racing history, nd quite possibly some national racing events under its belt. The Buick Racer that I am offering is aesthetically in very presentably preserved condition for an original unrestored 88 year old competition Racer/Speedster and to find one that is still sporting its original paint and panels is uncannily rare for an early American Racer that has not had the benefit of pampered institutional curating or warehousing. It is quite obvious that the Speedster has been stored in a temperature controlled garage for much of its life, ut confirmed was also used as a recreational driver until very recently. The New England gentleman that owned the vehicle for many years obviously experienced some difficulty with the original motor and whimsically had the engine and transmission replaced with a modern six cylinder motor and automatic transmission as he was rumored to enjoy rides in the speedster up until the time of his death. The interim motor and transmission is reliable enough that the car has very recently successfully finished a New England Antique Car Rally and is still driven quite regularly by the last owner to buy ice cream with his very young grand daughters as they very much enjoy motoring in the hulking Buick Racer that she has affectionately named "Betsy". Luckily, he original owner had the foresight to retain the original numbers matching six cylinder inline Buick engine and four speed transmission (original to this car as all serial numbers match the chassis) and are currently secured to a pallet and will be included in the sale, ut the motor is in unknown condition and most or all of the original parts and components look to be present facilitating a fairly straight forward restoration if and when one is undertaken. The previous longtime eccentric wealthy owner also had a late model car seat secured in a makeshift fashion to the frame with a modern (1970's) fully functioning safety belt so that the Racer could be driven safely on occasion. The wood spokes retain the cocoa colored patina that confirms the Racer has been stored out of the elements and in a temperature controlled environment and the chassis is remarkably solid and no damaging rust or rot is present in the steel frame or members. The dash looks to be all original with no aesthetic upgrades ever with all instruments still present and some functioning in the original blue racing paint. This iconic and rare Buick Racer/Speedster is wonderfully naked (simple) and unmolested retaining much of her nearly 90 year old original patina, nd cars such as this one bring upwards $45,000 in this condition in the PRE WAR CARS publication, nd of course if any significant/interesting race history can be uncovered/discovered, he value of this early Buick could easily reach six figures. I am moderately invested in this automotive jewel and if I receive an intelligent offer, certainly am willing to prematurely end the listing and pass this magnificent automotive investment to its next custodian with only a nominal profit for myself. This is probably one of the most significant collector car finds in my life and one need not be an expert to assess the incredible rarity and value of this pre wariconic American Racer/Speedster. When was the last time you have seen an unmolested 1927 big bodied (non conversion) Buick Racer/Speedster for sale for under $50,000. (American buyers) do not wait or hesitate on this rarity as the European collector car purveyors are astute and aggressively scouring our country for the finest, nrestored early American Racers and Speedsters and shipping them abroad where they are meticulously restored and repurposed in the vintage car rally's and races, hen traded at top dollar on the global market. This fabulously rare car will set the eBay collector car community abuzz and this listing will not last for its duration! Don't miss this acquisition opportunity of a lifetime because if and when this car resurfaces in a few years fully restored, he will be commanding a six figure price tag. This vehicle was long, ong ago constructed for racing and competition and is an authentic early American 1927 Buick Racer/Speedster. This is not a clone or recent reconfiguration!!!
