Description of 1980 Triumph Other

For those not familiar with this car, t was Triumph's last hurrah. Rover had bought the rights to this lightweight aluminum V8 from GM back in the mid 60s and put it in many British cars such as the Land Rover V8, organ Plus 8, VR (over 300 hp in some models, and also in this Triumph TR8. Lightweight and powerful, t is truly a poor man's Sunbeam Tiger. Remember when Tigers were called the poor man's Cobra and cost less than $10k? This car is sure to appreciate in similar fashion. With this car you can have lots of fun and there is no way to lose $$. Let's check out the details....
-Original engine, 0k miles. I have all the records since new including manuals, he window sticker, eceipts, tc. It still has the dual Stromberg carbs. It came with rare air conditioning. The compressor has been removed but is included. Parts are easy to get for this car and it is easy to get a 50 horsepower increase by using a Holly carb, ntake, and headers.
-The car looks pretty good going down the road. It's not concourse but a decent driver with average scratches and dings. A little faded paint here and there. It looks like it was perhaps partially repainted many years back but I do not see any evidence of accident damage. There is very litle rust. The drivers side floorpan has a few matchead size pinholes and there is some rust thru in the bottom of the spare tire well. All very minor stuff...
-This car needs nothing to get in and drive. It hasn't been restored per se but has been maintained. This is a car that you can tinker with on the weekend and still get in and drive. If I were to keep the car I would 1) replace the shifter bushings. They are a little sloppy 2) get a new top as the original one has some rips 3) one headlight is quirky-it always turns on but sometimes it doesn't want to lift up. One would probably need to go thru and clean the electrical connections4) fix leak in the power steering.
Great opportunity on a fun rare sports car. Please email me for any questions.
