Description of 1964 Other Makes Sunbeam Tiger |
You are viewing a 1964 Mark I Sunbeam Tiger. one of the first 240 Tigers built. The car came out of storage after 18 months of being kept outside. uncovered. which faded the paint. however it does not appear to have any rust and it is in very good shape. The car runs and drives. but would need to be properly serviced since it sat for so long. The only issues I found that need immediate attention. are a small fuel drip coming out of the front of the carburetor and a small metal rod behind the clutch pedal that is loose and needs to be held in place in order for the clutch pedal to be depressed and to function. The car has its original drivetrain. nbsp;however the previous owner replaced the heads with 289 heads. intake manifold and carburetor. The original heads. intake manifold and carburetor were kept and will come with the car (see pics). The original steering wheel. front grill and tachometer will also come with the car (see pics). The car also comes with its original hardtop and it is in good shape but it will need minor cosmetic restoration (paint). I will try to post a picture soon. I also have an assortment of various Tiger parts that will come with the sale of the car (e. g. additional oe intake manifold. carbs. heater core. radiators. brake calipers. trim moldings. lenses and gaskets. mirrors. door handles. etc. Because of the age of the car. it is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranties. so please email me with any questions you may have (serious buyers who are bidding only). I am NOT willing to sell the parts separately. so please do not inquire. Also buyer is responsible for the shipping. but I will assist in anyway I can. On Feb-05-15 at 19:34:03 PST. seller added the following information:Due to the overwhelming inquiries and questions about this Tiger's mechanical history. rust history. and accident history. I suggest you come or send someone you trust to take a look at the car this Saturday or Sunday (February 7-8) in Sierra Madre. CA before bidding. Due to my limited knowledge of the car's history. I am unable to answer many of your questions. Please understand that I am not a mechanic and I have very limited knowledge or experience dealing with cars. Many of you have asked to see the undercarriage of the car. however. I am unable to post any more photos on this page so please email me and I will send you photos of the undercarriage. As stated previously. the car is being sold as-is with no guarantees. You can call me at 213-379-2015 to make an appointment for either Saturday or Sunday. based on my availability. |
