Description of 1929 Other Makes

Here is a rarely seen first year 1929 DeSoto Convertible Roadster with a Rumble Seat. Only a handful known to still exist, under ten known roadster models left. This car is a completely unrestored original example. Last on the road in 1952 when we bought the car and put it away where is has been sitting for the last 60+ years. Still has the 1952 plates and inspection sticker on the window. It ran and drove as new when it was parked. I would expect the car to run fine again with some care. The car is 100% complete and "rarer than hen's teeth", as the expression goes. The car needs to be restored or could be a great HPOF AACA class car if you get it running and driving, fix the brakes and a set of tires and leave it the way it is. You can still see what's left of the original two tone yellow and dark blue paint. The car held up remarkable well considering how long it sat. The frame is solid. The wood floors look good as you can see in the photos. The rocker panels, running boards and lower fender areas have rusted out as you can also see in the photos. The lower area on one side of the hood is rusty. New running boards are available along with rocker panels. Not too much left of the interior materials but there is enough left to make new correct original style patterns. The car even has the correct dealer installed heater option which was never seen in a roadster of this era. All four wheels roll so the car is easy to move. Three of the original wood spoke wheels on the car are still ok but the forth wheel is off the car due to broken wood spokes. I may have an extra wood spoke wheel that is correct to this car, I am still looking for it. There is a spare tire and wheel on the car right now that holds air. After holding onto this car for so long, it's time for a new owner who will bring this very rare machine back around. The reserve is more than fair for a roadster like this so the highest bid may own the car. Original unrestored roadsters are almost impossible to come across anymore. Most are either long gone or turned into hotrods. NOTE.... Serious ready bidders only please. It costs money and time to hold an auction. My feedback has always been 100% positive since I signed up with Ebay over 15 years ago which says alot. I tell it like it is. If you have any questions, or if you would like to come see the car in person before you place a bid, just let me know. I wish all of us a wonderful Christmas season! Cheers everyone!
