Description of 1959 Edsel Villager |
1959 Edsel Villager The original 332 FE / 2speed was removed. Currently has a Chevy 5. 7 350 / 700R4 trans. I also tailored a two piece drive shaft with a new carrier bearing. Kept the original rear end and rebuilt it. Front suspension has Fat Man Fabrication drop spindles with disk brakes. I used Shockwaves in the front and 2600 lib bags with shocks in the rear. The stock leaf springs were removed for the custom trailing arms. Also a pan hard bar was used to complete the three link. The air management is an AirPod by RideTech. I've driven this car ALL over the state of Florida for the past 3 years and a couple times around the south east of the US. New gas tank. fuel lines and fuel pump too. ( And NO. i do not have the original drive train)The car was originally Victory Red with a white top and side trim with red interior. I repainted the car the factory red and instead of white. chose some house of color candies and flakes for a more custom look. I shaved the top front and side fender Edsel emblems. BUT i still have them to go with the car. I had the bumpers and rear tail gate pieces rechromed. I haven't touched the pot metal pieces. They're in decent shape. The intieror has custom touches too. The factory seats are recovered w red zodiac and gold. I do still have the factory Edsel ash tray that goes behind the front seat for the rear passenger to use. just not installed. The dash speaker grill was filled in. Dash is complete w all factory pieces. I used 1959 Galaxy door panels for more style. I still have the factory Villager arm rests if you'd like. I have the all the factory pieces and even cut and covered new headliner boards but haven't installed them. Boom Mat on the interior roof. I also have all the original side panels for the trunk area to use for a template when making the new ones. The underdash A/C unit was restored by Classic Auto Air. It's a Mercury factory option unit specific to the 1959 F/E/M dash. Factory heat still works very well too. Please ask any questions before you bid. This was a complete car when I started the restoration. The trim pieces not shown or installed. I still have and go with the car. Fly in and drive this car anywhere with confidence.
