Description of 1965 International Harvester Scout Scout 80, 800 |
I looked at 6 or 7 other Scouts prior to buying this one for restoration. The amount of time and quality work that's gone into this Scout has made it the best one that I've worked on. I've resorted 5 of these body styled Scouts (80&800). and two of the Scout II's. Up for sale is my 1965 International Scout. The Scout has been restored with a new paint color called Hematite. which is a 2013 Honda paint code and Interior completed in dark Graphite Grey Vinyl. I've added a bed-liner and tinted windows. All new gauges a B&M Shifter and Tilt steering wheel. The truck has fresh weatherstripping throughout. New window gaskets all around. The truck has a strong V-8. 318 motor. with a Holley Aluminum Intake. 4-barrel Edelbrock Carb and Automatic Transmission. It has front disc brakes and power steering. both of which work outstanding and make the truck easy to handle. The Scout has been fitted with dual electric radiator fans. The 4-wheel drive gears preform the way they should with locking front hubs. The front end is Scout Dana 27 and the rear is Scout Dana 44. This Scout has its two Factory Fuel Tanks and a 3rd 20 gal tank has been added to the rear which give this Scout maximum range. The 3rd tank has filler necks on each side of the body and is the tank that I normally use. The Scout gets approx 12-13 miles to the gal. It also has a nice vintage roof-rack and spare tire rack located in the rear. The Tire size is 31x10. 5x15 with good rubber all around. It also has a very convenient onboard Air Compressor and a locking Gun Box mounted behind the rear seat. This Scout is ready for outdoor adventures or allowing the wife to go get groceries. The biggest question when buying an old Scout is rust. this one is no rust bucket. It's spent its entire life here in Central California. Has all of its original body panels with no rust!!! This Scout has been put together for fun. and fun it is. This Scout can go anywhere and move around and over almost anything. It runs good and drives good. There is currently no radio in the Truck. but very easy to add one. One of the first orignal SUV's that came out on the market. and still stands as the orignal SUV icon. As part of the listing I've added photos of some of the other Scouts I've restored and sold. I'm adding my phone number to help answer questions and to workout a deal for the right buyer. Those of you that understand what this truck is know that it's not going to last long. give me a call and let's get this baby sold. I'm willing to consider all reasonable offers. Thanks. 661-340-3497. PLEASE READ: MUCH OF THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN BEAUTIFULLY RESURRECTED. ALTHOUGH I WOULD NOT CALL IT A TRAILER QUEEN - AS YOU MAY STILL FIND THINGS YOU WANT TO DO. DEPENDING ON YOUR PERSONAL TASTES. PLEASE REALIZE THAT THIS TRUCK IS USED. THE BODY AND PAINT ARE NOT PERFECT AND HAVE SOME SMALL FLAWS. IT IS APPROX 50 YEARS OLD. IS NOT "PERFECT". I'M ONLY SAYING THIS TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM EXTREME PERFECTIONISTS WANTING A $30. 00. 00 TRUCK FOR HALF PRICE. THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD COMPLETELY AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY. ORAL. EXPRESS. WRITTEN. IMPLIED. OR OTHERWISE. THE SELLER SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CORRECT DESCRIPTION. AUTHENTICITY. GENUINESS. OR DEFECTS HEREIN. AND MAKES NO WARRANTY IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND TO HAVE SATISFIED HIMSELF OR HERSELF AS TO THE CONDITION AND VALUE AND TO BID BASED UPON THAT JUDGEMENT SOLELY. WINNING THE AUCTION MEANS THAT YOU HAVE ENTERED INTO A CONTRACT TO PAY FOR THE VEHICLE. AND DOES NOT ENTITLE THE WINNER TO COME BY FOR A POST AUCTION INSPECTION TO RENEGOTIATE AFTER ELIMINATING COMPETING BIDDERS. IF YOU WISH TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. YOU MUST DO SO BEFORE AUCTION END. PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE THE END OF THE AUCTION TO ARRANGE FOR INSPECTION. THNAKS. |
